Chamber seeks Information Center Volunteers
The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking to fill a few more volunteer positions for its Rockland Information Center this summer.

The Chamber seeks friendly, professional, and reliable individuals who enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life and who are enthusiastic about promoting our region, our Chamber members, and our area’s many events and activities. Individuals who are able to commit to a regular, 3 to 4 hour weekly time slot during the summer season are preferred. Year-round volunteers and single-day event volunteers are also needed. For all positions, knowledge of the local area is essential, and we are happy to offer real-time training. Through our Information Centers and our outreach programs, the Chamber aims to be the authority on local business and tourism.

Maine Lobster Festival seeks volunteer organizations for Food Tent
The 75th Maine Lobster Festival is still seeking volunteers to serve in the Food Tent on Friday, August 5, Saturday, August 6, and Sunday, August 7. The Festival organizers are looking for groups of middle school and high school students to help clean tables. These groups could be sports teams, clubs, etc. in groups of 6-10 students plus at least one adult supervisor. All volunteers will receive a Maine Lobster Festival Volunteer t-shirt and for every 4-hour shift worked, plus the Festival will donate $200 to the participating organization. Registration Begins for MCST Adult Education’s Fall Program
Summer Gardening, Studio and CNA classes to run in August. Fall catalogs are in the mail and MCST Adult Ed is seeing early registrations for such diverse classes as Cyber Safety, Google drive, Perennial Combinations, Welding (MIG I and STICK). Meanwhile, space is still available in our Summer Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course, beginning August 23. More...

Harry Potter Birthday Celebration at the Camden Public Library
Witches, wizards, muggles, and the general public are all invited to join the Harry Potter Birthday Celebration at the Camden Public Library on Friday, July 29, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Youth librarian Miss Amy will lead the free family fun on the library’s upper lawn. Participants are encouraged to join the party in costume. Activities will include Harry Potter-inspired games, a sorting ceremony, photo-ops, wand-making, sending howlers, making potions, and more! Merryspring adds new “Party in the Park” fundraising event
Merryspring will be holding a special “Party in the Park” on Wednesday, August 10, to raise funds for general upkeep of the 66-acre Nature Center. This first-ever “Party in the Park” will feature live musicians, food trucks, a cornhole tournament, lawn games, a raffle, outdoor art unveiling, and lovely gardens. Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Awards Career Technology Education Scholarships
Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has named 15 recent high school graduates as recipients of the Bank’s 2022 Career Technology Education Scholarship. The $1,000 award is presented to students in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont who attended a technical career program as part of their high school curriculum and are planning to attend college or a technical school after graduation.
