Senator Collins provides update on Rockland Waterfront Redevelopment
Last week, Chamber President and CEO Eric Belley received an update from US Senator Susan Collins regarding the City of Rockland’s request for funding to redevelop the middle pier and related facilities in the Rockland downtown waterfront. Read the full letter here.
Coastliner Excursions will debut service during Lobster Festival
Maine’s natural world becomes more visible and meaningful from a comfortable train with a different perspective moving at less-than-highway speed. Try a little asphalt-free tourism on a relaxing Coastliner excursion. The first official public activity will be offered during the Lobster Festival in Rockland, August 4-6. Four daily introductory round trips are planned on a reservations-recommended basis from Rockland station to the Thomaston waterfront and beyond. For details and reservations, click here.

Invasive Plants of the Midcoast
Louisa Crane joins The Rockport Garden Club on August 3 at 1 PM. She will discuss how to identify invasive plants that have crept into the garden and how to remove and prevent them from returning. An invasive plant is defined as a plant that is not native to a particular ecosystem and whose introduction can cause economic or environmental harm. Stewardship Education Alliance announces opening of Camden Public Landing Park and Aquarium
Members of the board and advisory board of The Stewardship Education Alliance (S.E.A.) are delighted to announce the opening of a S.E.A. Park at the Camden Public Landing next to the Harbor Masters building. The project features a 300 gallon marine aquarium along with picnic tables and planters built by students from the Camden Regional High School Hatchery Innovation Center. The lumber they used was recycled from the harbor boardwalk damaged by last December’s ocean storm. More...
