Chamber's shop local campaign, Keep the Cheer Here, heralds in the holiday season

Chamber members are invited to add a free listing on our third annual 'Keep The Cheer Here" webpage, where viewers can find details about your holiday shopping hours, your special events, links to your online shopping page, and more!

"Keep the Cheer Here" is a centralized hub for local retailers and event planners to share their holiday tidings, which the Chamber will promote via local media and social media, encouraging people to shop local and celebrate local during this holiday season.

UPDATE: Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the 4th annual turkey ride has been moved to Sunday, November 13th at 9 am. If you have any questions feel free to call Maine Sport at 207-236-7120. Maine Sport Outfitters is excited to host the 4th Annual Turkey Ride this month, an event that features riding to Hannaford to purchase a turkey (or sides) and then riding with the turkey to the Camden Area Food Pantry. Festival of Lights Tree and Wreath Silent Auction and Raffle
The Friends of the Rockland Public Library will hold their annual Festival of Lights Tree and Wreath Silent Auction and Raffle on Saturday, November 26 at the Rockland Public Library. More than 30 gloriously decorated tabletop trees and wreaths donated by local businesses will be on display. Camden Garden Club makes bows for downtown Camden lamppost wreaths
Members of the Camden Garden Club gathered this October to create the bows for the downtown Camden lamppost wreaths. The red felt bows will adorn the nearly 100 balsam wreaths that will hang on the streets of Camden throughout the holiday season in 2022. This year will be the 51st year that the Club has provided decorated wreaths for the town of Camden. Since the 1950s, the Club has provided holiday decorations for the town. The tradition of fresh balsam wreaths adorned with puffy red bows and lights began in 1971. More...

LEGO Replica of the Camden Public Library On Display Now
Local LEGO artist Colby Adolphsen has created an incredible replica of Camden Public Library, entirely made of LEGO. No detail escaped his notice: the accuracy of everything from bond patterns in the bricks to the light-up lighthouse in the children’s room is both impressive and magical. Not only is the library’s exterior architecture and landscaping precisely engineered in LEGO, but the inside is, too. IRS announces job openings to hire over 700 new employees across the country to help taxpayers in person
In addition to the more than 4,000 people recently hired to fill critical customer service representative positions, the Internal Revenue Service is now seeking over 700 new employees to help taxpayers at Taxpayer Assistance Centers across the country. “This is an important priority to provide more service at the IRS for the upcoming filing season,” said Ken Corbin, the Service’s Taxpayer Experience Officer and Wage and Investment Commissioner. “We are working to have more than 270 walk-in sites properly staffed to provide the help taxpayers need and deserve. This will be the first time in a decade our walk-in sites will be fully staffed.” More...

The Maine Tax Portal is coming soon!
Tax season is about to get easier! On the Maine Tax Portal, a new online system of Maine Revenue Services, businesses will be able to file, pay, and manage taxes online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The new Maine Tax Portal, will be available for most business taxpayers December 1, 2022. It will replace I-File, EZ-Pay, and MEETRS, which will be deactivated for most business taxpayers March 31, 2023. More...
