A Message from Chamber Interim President and CEO.
In its purest form, a chamber of commerce is a catalyst for economic development within its service area. There is great strength in the group dynamic that comes from the collective efforts of smart business people working to improve their future through joint collaboration.
My direct involvement with the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber and its predecessor organizations over the past three decades has provided me with many opportunities. From building strong business relationships to developing a broad network of friends, the chamber has always been an organization worthy of my personal participation and the financial investment made by the member companies that were my employers. And throughout all those years, the value of membership was never in doubt.
As the chamber endures its second leadership transition in a relatively short period of time, it's important for you to know that from my perspective the current board of directors - from its chair to its most junior elected members - is as dedicated a group of individuals as any with whom I have been associated. With the board's solid support of the chamber's talented staff and seasoned volunteers, you should be comfortable knowing that day-to-day operations continue as expected.
Please be assured that the wheels are in motion to identify an individual who will take the chamber to its next level of success, and who will embrace the merits of the chamber being the critical linchpin necessary to maximize economic vitality here on the Midcoast.
In the meantime, I'll do my best to help fulfill the chamber's obligation to serve our members and to encourage local residents and visitors alike to conduct business and to spend their leisure time and treasure here in the
Camden-Rockland Region.
Best personal regards,
Gordon Page
