A Message from Chamber Interim President and CEO.
On this day after Thanksgiving, we know that Hanukkah begins in just 13 days and Christmas is 31 days away, immediately followed by the start of Kwanzaa on December 26th.
Of course, not all of the holidays that occur this time of year are religion-based. These events are celebrated in many forms by people of all faiths, and also by those who do not worship any deity.
As we enter the home stretch of 2023, I hope all of us, whether we are irreligious or we participate in any of the estimated 4,000 worldwide religions, will be able to live together as one community.
For the majority of those reading this message, yesterday was a peaceful day spent with family and friends in the comfort of a warm home or restaurant. For others, not so much.
While gearing up for a busy and profitable shopping season, let's keep in mind those individuals who are less fortunate. Let the homeless person you see every day know that she's not invisible. Wave to your neighbor that you don't know well. When you're out and about, be sure to tip generously, treat the low-wage earner in a respectful manner, and be the best that you can be.
Happy holidays!
Gordon
