School Picture update! It was great to see those who made it in for pictures! We are working on a make up day and/or a plan to make sure everyone gets a photo submitted for yearbook. Watch for more information on the website and here in enews. We appreciated everyone following the social distancing protocols! THANK YOU! We miss everyone!
CKMS Hawks News!

Important Information:

WEB --- Where Everybody Belongs -- is a mentor like program that involves our 8th graders working with 6th graders to help make them feel connected to the school. On Wednesday September 30th and Wednesday October 7th our 8th grade WEB leaders are going to start working with the 6th graders. The first advisory meeting will entail getting to know them and the second one will focus on how to be successful in middle school.

Counseling Center News!
On Wednesday during Advisory, students watched an introduction presentation for the CKMS Counseling Center. Students were introduced to their assigned School Counselors: Amy Benolkin (A-L) and Jennifer Hemker (M-Z). We are also lucky to have a School Counseling Intern Amber Newman, this year! Students filled out a short survey as well. This is a way for us to find out what counseling needs students have this year. Soon we will be starting small social and support groups. If you think your child could benefit from being part of a small group, please contact their School Counselor. See the link to view the counselor's presentation

We are no longer able to replace stylus. If your stylus should stop working, please check the following options for new ones.

Stylus Option 1 - Surface Pen
 
AS a reminder you can see all our new books we have added to our library here at CKMS!!  On your 1:1 devices you will find your ClassLink.  Open it and look for the FollettDestiny App. Click on it and it will take you to the Chief Kanim Media Center. Choose the tab Catalog on the top bar.  Now choose Destiny Discover on the left margin. This will lead you to CKMS’s Library Destiny program. 

Chief Kanim’s Library Destiny program is where we keep all our current book inventory. If you know what specific book you want, you can search for it on this page. If you prefer a specific topic, choose from categories listed just below the recently added books.  Destiny is a friendly app to view several books and their information. When ready to check out the chosen book, just click on the HOLD tab.  I will process all HOLDS for you to pick up within 24 hours. Books will be available at the Main Office for all pick-ups. All checked out books have a 2 week check out time. Then it needs to be returned to the Book Return. You can renew your book, for another 2 weeks. Please email me at [email protected].
