Friday Surprise
Stories- Poems- Reflection- Meditations- Prayers as we enter into Sabbath Time
For this week's Friday Surprise, I'm sharing the song I contributed to our VBS program. It's originally written by me, but it came with the "Compassion Camp" materials our congregation adapted for our program. The lyrics of the song, describing God's closeness to us in spite of spatial distance, are especially appropriate for our times of continued social distance. In sharing this, I am reminded of another song, by greats of Chicago, Gospel music giant Mavis Staples and acoustic artist Jeff Tweddy, "You Are Not Alone."

This is part of our new effort to connect with the church and one another during this weird time and we are continually developing our plans. If interested in sharing a story, song, poem, prayer, or other art, please send an e-mail to summer intern Ole Schenk , who is continuing this series as Pastor Kendra goes on leave . We hope that your story or other art reflects a little bit about you and we welcome all sorts of stories- funny- sad- heart warming- really we are looking for authentic.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you- Maya Angelou
