Kinder-Gardening! 
Green Grounds Family Work Day
Join our Religious Education team & Green Grounds for
 gardening fun this Saturday morning.  The weather forecast looks beautiful! Drop in any time between 9 am and 12 pm. Work alongside our children and their families to prepare ground for a small "Kinder Garden" along the south side of the courtyard that our children and families can watch grow, tend, and harvest. This Week in Religious Education: Invitation
Our Spirit Play (Preschool and K-2nd grade) classes will be exploring the story "The Color of Me" as they learn about and celebrate the variety of skin colors. Curiosity Club (3rd-6th) will be drawing upon our UU source of science and reason through some hands on experiments. YUUMS (7th & 8th grade) will reconnect, play games, and discuss their plans for April and May. High School Youth Group should bring a brown bag lunch and wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed toes shoes for their trip to the farm to visit baby goats. Baby Dedication -  Sunday, April 21

Our congregation will be setting aside special time in both of our worship services on Sunday, April 21st to celebrate a rite of passage for the youngest members of our congregation. Baby dedications are intended as celebrations of the miracle of life, the sacredness of the child-parent bond, and the importance of a strong reciprocal relationship between family and a supportive faith community. Visit with our Director of Religious Education during coffee hour!
Look for Adrienne Summerlot in Fellowship Hall during coffee hour between services, this Sunday, April 7th, and next Sunday, April 14th. Adrienne looks forward to talking to families with kids currently in middle school or entering 6th-8th grade next school year. 
UU Gardeners Meet at 10:15 in the Library
The UU Gardeners, a new interest group, are meeting in the church Library this Sunday between services, from 10:15 to 11:15 am. Anyone with an interest in gardening is welcome. Child care is available.   -- Anne Haynes
Are you new here? Take your "First Steps" this Sunday!
Join us to discuss the basics of Unitarian Universalism and this congregation, and watch a short video about Unitarian Universalism. This Sunday in Room 112 from 10:35 to 11 am and 12:35 to 1 pm (after each service). F ree childcare is available in Room 108. UU Humanists Meet at 12:45 pm in Room 208
The UU Humanist Forum will meet this Sunday at 12:45 p.m. in Room 208, after children's religious education classes end. Sandy Dolby will lead a discussion on "Which to teach: relativism or kindness?"
UU Singles Fellowship and Activities Group: Sunday Lunch
Join us for a weekly lunch date! Every Sunday, after the second service, we will meet up by the coatroom to agree on a lunch spot. Hope to see you there!

On April 20, stop by and enjoy everything the day has to offer, an d st ay to help out. There will be childcare available from 9 am to 12 pm for all people attending, including volunteers. There are also opportunities to help by cooking ahead of time.

Visit the Pledge Booth to Support Our Budget for Next Year
This Sunday, and on April 14 and 21, there will be friendly helpful people at the Pledge Booth in Fellowship Hall after each service to assist you in  making a financial pledge for the coming fiscal  year (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020). There will be  pledge cards already labeled with your name if you made a pledge last year. There will also be pledge cards in the orders of service for your convenience.

Hatha Yoga Class with Kate Mulligan
Tuesdays thru April 30
5:30 to 7 pm in the Library
A gentle hatha yoga practice to balance the mind, body, and spirit. Includes: warm up and gentle asanas (yoga poses) for strength, flexibility, and relaxation along with breath work and guided meditation. You may join the class at any time. Please bring a yoga mat or large size bath towel. The class is free, but please register by calling or emailing the church office:  office@uubloomington.org  or 812-332-3695.
 Canyon Forest. Dr. David Dilcher, Paleobotanist and UU member, will join us for this hike. We will meet at the west side K-mart parking lot at 1:30 pm to carpool to the trail head. This is a 1.6 mile "moderate"  hike. See the Sycamore Land Trust website for more information.  We will reschedule if it rains. Please email  connect@uubloomington.org  so we know to expect you!

Donate to the UU Goods and Services Auction 
Donation Forms Due on Sunday, April 14
Have you considered donating your talents, services, or gently-used goods to this year's UU Auction? (Coming up on Sunday, May 5.) We'd love to see what you've got! Previous items have ranged from themed meals, small artwork, and voice lessons to home baked bread, babysitting, and handmade socks. Your generosity is appreciated!

UU Seder Dinner
Friday, April 19, 6:00 pm
The UU Seder will be held Friday April 19 at 6:00 pm. This important Jewish festival tells the story of the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt. We will celebrate with a UU-influenced retelling. This child-friendly event includes traditional Seder foods as well as a full dinner. Tickets will be sold between services on Sundays: Adults (vegetarian or omnivore) $9, children $4, or $25 per family. We need some help with clean up. Buy Grocery Cards on Sunday and Support the Church
Fresh Thyme Cards Now Available
We have grocery gift cards for sale in the Commons every Sunday between services. The participating grocery stores send a percentage of your purchases back to the church to support our operating budget. We have gift cards for Fresh Thyme, Bloomingfoods, and Lucky's, and you can register your Kroger Plus card by clicking  here Our new Kroger organization ID number is  EW763.
New Deadlines for Order of Service and Friday Update Info
Thursday at 9:00 am
Because we have shifted the rhythm of our work week to hold our weekly staff meeting on Thursdays now, we encourage everyone to send us information for the order of service by 9:00 am on Thursdays. Deadline for info to be included in the Friday Update is also now due by 9:00 am on Thursdays.
Livestream This Sunday's Service
If you can't physically make it to church this Sunday, we invite you to join us via the livestream on our website. At the church we also have screens set up in the nursery (Room 104) and in Fellowship Hall, if you need to leave the Meeting Room for any reason but still want to watch the service.
