Dangerous Old Woman
Reverend Mary Ann Macklin
The theme for the month of January is Creativity. We will initiate this theme by engaging creative genius extraordinaire, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés and her book, Dangerous Old Woman.  Dr. Estés queries, "Did you know, you were born as the first, and the last and the best and the only one of your kind, and that eccentricity is the first sign of giftedness? If you have any doubt, come join us at the fireside of The Dangerous Old Woman for the soul-healing wisdom that will ignite your creativity and support your highest calling in life."  Join us by the fireside, hmm-- chalice side, on Sunday morning.
This Week in Religious Education:
Creativity and Sophia Lyon Fahs
Our January Intersession begins this week! Children will be learning about our Unitarian ancestor, Sophia Lyon Fahs. 9:15am preschoolers will start and end in their classroom and will participate in intersession activities as their own group. 11:15am preschoolers will have their familiar Spirit Play class in Room 103 and learn the story of Sophia Lyon Fahs.  Kindergarten-Eighth graders will gather in Fellowship Hall after the time for all ages to be assigned to a mixed-age group. Each group will explore Creativity and the life of Sophia Lyon Fahs through cooking, science, spiritual practice, and history over the four weeks of January. Find out where to pick up your children by looking at the nursery window (Room 104).
Harry Potter and UU is on hiatus until February 4th; 6th-8th graders are encouraged to attend service or join the intersession.
High School Youth group will cook lunch together and reflect upon the New Year.
