Families Belong Together
Immigration Justice Rally
Saturday, June 30, 10:30 a.m.
at the Courthouse
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 30, join us on the Courthouse Lawn in downtown Bloomington at 10:30 AM to send a message to the Republican Administration loud and clear: Families Belong Together!  We're holding a rally to call for an end to the Trump administration' s cruel policy of  separating kids from their parents.
Trump's executive order is not a solution to the immigration crisis created by his administration; it keeps kids imprisoned indefinitely, and doesn't reunite thousands of families that have already been separated.
Co-sponsored by Bloomington Refugee Network, Showing Up for Racial Justice, Ninth District Latino Democratic Caucus, UU Refugee and Immigration Task force, Ze Hayom (This Is The Day) Social Action at Congregation Beth Shalom, and 9 other local organizations. Details here.
If You Can't Attend the Rally,
Join us  tomorrow, June 30, 10:30 am - for our last sign making workshop for the 4th of July Parade!
Come make signs for the parade, Saturday, June 30, 10:30 AM-12:30 PM in room 208. All ages welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Let Ann LeDuc know if you would like to eat pizza while working on a sign by emailing

Wellspring:
A Story of Spiritual Deepening
Members of Our Congregation's Wellspring Program
Reverend Mary Ann Macklin and Reverend Emily Manvel Leite
In September 2017, a pilot group began the Wellspring Program here at our church, which was created to enhance spiritual lives within a small group setting. In addition to meeting twice a month, each member committed to a daily spiritual practice, met at least once a month with a spiritual director, and completed readings and other assignments towards increased spirituality. In this worship service, we will hear from members of this group regarding their nine-month journey of spiritual deepening.
This Week in Religious Education: Story
Our preschoolers will explore our Green UU Promise: Grow by Seeking as they hear John Lithgow's story "Marsupial Sue", about a kangaroo who learns to be herself.  Kindergarten-8th graders will meet upstairs in the library to make signs, ribbon wands and percussion instruments for the 4th of July parade, and lift their voices in song as they celebrate our community.

We are preparing to update our mailing list. If you do not receive your Friday UU Update on July 6 or your Prologue on July 17, please check to be certain that we have your current postal address and correct email address so that we can get you back on the list. Contact Monica or Mandy at office@uubloomington.org.
Weed of the Week
If you notice this plant -- bind weed -- in any of our church gardens, pull it out!
It spreads by the roots, so if we can catch them right away that will reduce the spread. It climbs and chokes other plants, from flowers to bushes.
Thank you!
