The River Running O'er
Reverend Scott McNeill
As life flows past, we feel the all too common urge to hold tightly to what we know, instead of what is changing around us. However, there is another way: releasing ourselves to the river running o'er. This Sunday, we will look at change and how it relates to our own lives and the church. (We will also hear a special musical reflection by Dan Lodge-Rigal!)
This Week in Religious Exploration: Letting Go
Caring Connections (Childcare) will be exploring their senses through story, movement, crafts and play in Room 108.
World of Wonder (Preschool) will have lots of time to explore activities in their familiar classroom, Room 103.
Kids in Kindergarten-8th grade  will all be together in Room 208 for a special guest visitor, Malke Rosenfeld, who will help us embrace a growth mindset through art and fun activities that help us let go of the voice that sometimes tells us "we can't do math".
Jedi Academy (6th-8th grade) will not meet today. Please join the other kids in religious exploration.
High School Youth Group will meet in Room 208 for a brown bag lunch before heading out to Sycamore Land Trust. Click here to Sign Up for this week and see what else youth group is up to in October!
Do You Have Questions about Religious Education?
Our Director of Religious Education, Adrienne Summerlot, will be available in Fellowship Hall this Sunday during coffee hour to answer questions, help you register or pay for religious education, etc.
Our Folks . . .
All are invited to a service of remembrance of Ian Davis on Sunday, October 13, at 3:00 pm in the Meeting Room, followed by an October birthday party in Fellowship Hall -- a potluck pitch-in meal, with cake provided. Reverend Bill Breeden, our Minister Emeritus, will assist with the service.
Our hearts are with Jim and Monica Overman and their family as they mourn the loss of Jim's mother, Frances Overman, who passed away on Tuesday.
