Reverend Mary Ann Macklin
      In this worship service our Time for All Ages will include our beloved Age of Reason Ceremony  for first graders who are beginning to learn to read.  The sermon will offer reflections on the works of Celtic spiritual leader and poet John O'Donohue, including  Blessings.
Please note: Reverend Macklin encourages everyone to send a 150-word comment with their thoughts on the current state of America to Malcolm Abrams of Bloom Magazine, who has invited community input. Click here for suggested topics.
This week in Religious Education
World of Wonder (preschoolers) will hear the story of Two Goats and a Bridge as they explore our Indigo UU Promise: Insist on Peace.  Roots and Wings (K-2 nd grade) will learn our Violet UU Promise: Value Our Earth as we hear about our congregational ancestor Cookie Lynch. Curiosity Club (9:15am-3 rd grade+, 11:15am 3 rd -5 th grade) will celebrate the blessings that books have brought into our lives. Harry Potter and UU (11:15am-6 th -8 th graders) will be learning about Crawford Homes and the rapid re-housing project with special guest Alan Backler.  High School Youth Group is away at a youth conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Exploring Unitarian Universalism Class starts this Sunday
Are you interested in learning more about Unitarian Universalism and this congregation?  Are you considering becoming a member of this church? Whether you are considering membership or are just curious, this class is for you. Join us on  Nov 5 in room 112, and  Nov 12 in the church library,  2-4 pm. Community Memorial Service November 5
There will be a community memorial service here in our Meeting Room on  Sunday, November 5 at 3:00 p.m. It is open to all who have lost a loved one. Reverend Macklin and Rabbi Leon Olenick of Southerncare Hospice will facilitate. Refreshments to follow. (no childcare for this event)
Jackson tickets on sale for film on Sunday, November 5
Jackson, a film on reproductive rights, will be presented at the John Waldron Arts Center, Sunday, November 5, at 3:00 p.m., sponsored by the Reproductive Justice Task Force and Monroe Co NOW. Tickets are $20 and are available through task force members, at Yarns Unlimited, and will be available for sale during fellowship hour on Sunday, November 5.
Get Some Pizza and Support the Emergency Winter Shelter
November 6  is Get Some Pizza! night, at get some pizza restaurant at  211 N. Walnut St . Thi s is a fundraiser for the Interfaith Emergency Winter Shel ter. Just mention at the register that you are there to benefit the shelter.
Fall Diaper Drive Ends November 12 
Bring baby diapers this Sunday for All-Options Pregnancy Resource Center!  Diapers can be donated year round but this is a special giving opportunity.  Box for donations is in the Commons.   Sponsored by the Reproductive Justice Task Force.
