May Faire Update

We are 8 days away from May Faire!

Thank you to those who have already signed up to help with a booth during May Faire. We are still in need of help at the ticket booth, food booth and Bake Sale.

Also we ask each class to provide a bouquet of flowers Saturday morning so in addition to your Bake Sale items, please bring in some fresh flowers.

Bake Sale reminder:

K-1 Sweet

2-4 Savory

5-8 drinks (juice boxes, flavored water, sparkling water and plain water, no sodas please)

Make sure to check in with your parent rep to see if canopies, tables or supplies are needed. We will need extra coolers for the food and Bake Sale booths and extra canopies (3-5) for committee run booths.

Children should be dressed in white or light colored clothing. New this year, Ms. Cori is starting a lending library for white and light colored clothing to use at May Faire. We have a small collection already. You can visit her office any day next week between 8:15-9:00 am or 3:00-3:15 pm to pick out something. It will be open from 10:30-11:00 am the day of May Faire as well.

Menu for May Faire:

Tri Tip Sandwich- $15

Smoked Tri Tip with Dill Coleslaw and Crispy Onions on Toasted Ciabatta

Eagle Point Butcher Shop Braut- $10

Veggie Club Wrap- $10

Stewardship Day Update

Thank you to all who showed up for our Spring Stewardship Day. The community members who came out last Saturday refreshed and beautified our campus with their hard work on tasks including (but not limited to): sanding and staining picnic tables, painting trim for doors and railings, planting and landscaping, vegetation control through weed whacking, repairs and building in the Kinderyard, and more!

We are so very grateful to everyone who took time on their Saturday morning to show love to our school. Thank you!!

From the Athletic Director

On Wednesday, April 24th, our 6th graders competed in the SOMSAC 6th grade districts meet. This was an extremely large meet with 29 schools represented. Due to the size of the meet; any top 20 finishers will be listed in the notable finishes section.

Medieval Games a Success!

The Blackberry Class, led by Sir Barbee the Great, spent Thursday night at Siskiyou Kingdom and all day today at Woodland Kingdom testing their fortitude, bravery, and cooperation in various activities including archery, spear throwing, and stave fencing. They started as Pages and all successfully earned the title of Squire by the end of the event. They researched, designed, and painted their own shields in preparation for the Games. Fun was had by all.

Sprouts Program 2024-2025

We have begun accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Sprouts Preschool Program. Interested families who have not yet filled out the Sprouts Preschool Program Interest Form should fill out the form to get on the list. Once you have submitted the form, the program manager will send further details about the program, teacher bios, cost, etc., for your review so you can make the best decision for your family. Applications will be sent out to families who have submitted their form.

Your child must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply:

1. Child must be 4 years of age by June 1st, 2024 to be considered for the 24-25 school year.

2. Child must be potty trained.

3. Child must be able to be away from parents for at least a four hour period.

State Testing

The window for taking our state-wide assessment, the SBAC, is now open. Students in 3rd-8th grade are tested annually in Language Arts and Math, and 5th and 8th graders are tested in Science as well. As per Oregon law, parents and guardians have the right to opt their children out of this assessment. In order to do this, you will need to meet in person with our School Test Coordinator, Ms. Cori, to sign the opt-out form. Please email her to set-up a time to meet if you wish to opt your child out of state testing, cori.royer@madronetrail.org. As a reminder, 3rd, 5th, and 8th graders do not have to take the Spring I-ready assessment so they can focus all of their attention on the SBAC.
