Gnomes by Ezra Blumeyer and Oak Fox, 2nd grade

From the Interim Director

Greetings Madrone Trail,

It’s been an ongoing pleasure to be part of a school with such a strong sense of community. I’ve enjoyed attending parent council, budget committee, site committee, auction committee, school board and other meetings, quickly learning much about the work that happens behind the scenes at Madrone Trail.

With the director’s office positioned right next to the courtyard, hearing the (usually) happy children’s voices playing outside every day has also been delightful.

Some changes you will see on campus include Saul Harper now serving as our Social Emotional Advocate, filling the position vacated by Shelby Dias, who has accepted a position with Southern Oregon ESD. Congratulations Saul, and best wishes Shelby!

We’d also like to welcome aboard Ahavah Oblak from Four Winds Educational Consulting who has been contracted to assist Madrone Trail with seeking and securing grant funding.

Finally, we have entered into an agreement with Jamie Lloyd to conduct evaluations with our classroom faculty this year. Jamie is a professional consultant with many years of experience in Waldorf education and school administration. He will be on site near the end of this month to facilitate the process. We are lucky to have access to such a rich wealth of professional talent as a resource to support us in organizational growth and development.

As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, or would just like to say hello, please call or stop by any time.

With gratitude,

Andy Bracco

From the Kitchen

Oatmeal is Back! By popular demand, we will be serving oatmeal again for breakfast every morning starting Monday. It is now available on EZ app if you would like to order ahead for your student.

Breakfast and Lunch (NOT SNACKS) Now Free for All K-8 Students!

Because our community meets a minimum threshold of families participating in SNAP and Medicaid, all breakfast and lunch meals are FREE for all students K-8 starting January 1 (retroactively). Yes, you read that right! ALL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH MEALS ARE NOW FREE TO EVERY STUDENT K-8. We will no longer have to process lunch applications and we do not have to track which meals are served to which students, only count the meals each day. This is a game changer, obviously for our parents and kids who do not qualify for free meals already, but it also eases the administrative burden on the lunch program.

Since the program started retroactively on January 1, families who paid for breakfast or lunch must be reimbursed. We have already credited everyone’s account to whom this applies. If you have a significant positive balance on your account, you can request a reimbursement by completing this form. Snacks are not free, so if you would like your student to continue receiving snacks please be sure to indicate on the form how much $ you would like to leave on the account. Be sure to check your balance on EZ app before requesting a reimbursement.

Please Note

Since students participating in the SPROUTS program are not technically district students, this does not apply to pre-K students. Pre-K students may still receive meals but at the established paid price-- funds will need to remain on your account

Our Pre-Order Policy Remains in Place

Pre-orders are required for breakfast burritos and our daily lunch specials; our other breakfast options and daily soups do not require a pre-order. Pre-orders are accepted until 10 pm the day prior to service. If we do not have a pre-order for your student, they are welcome to choose from our other delicious options. Click here for instructions to register for your EZ app meals account
