From the Director

Dear Families,

It is so nice to see our classrooms full of energetic, well rested students! I trust that you all had the opportunity to spend some quality time as a family over the holidays. It is so refreshing to push pause on our daily routines and take a break. That being said, I am glad to get back into the swing of things!

WINTER BREAK PROJECTS

We completed a few projects on campus during the break. We had some concrete poured by our new modular to accommodate the ramp, as well as an area for an outdoor covered area. We had a serving window cut out between the gym and kitchen in preparation for our hot lunch program. The cleaning crew completed some deep cleaning projects and we had one of our electrical panels updated.

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM

We are putting the finishing touches on our hot lunch program. Chef Evan has put a lot of time into creating a healthy menu, as well as meeting all of the regulations associated with State and Federal guidelines. You will receive more information very shortly!

COFFEE WITH ADMINISTRATION

I will be making myself available each week after our assembly for a “Coffee with the Administration” discussion. This will be an informal get together where you are free to ask questions, raise concerns, share ideas and provide me the opportunity to seek feedback from you. So I invite you to stay for a few minutes after each assembly and sample Chef Evan’s special blend while we chat!

Have a wonderful weekend,

~Kendall Roberts

May Faire Committee

The May Faire Committee is having its first meeting on Wednesday, January 11 at 1:30 pm on campus. If you are interested in joining and helping to form and plan our May Faire this year, feel free to join! Any questions email Ms. Nancy, [email protected]

Sprouts Program Openings

We currently have a few spaces available in our newly revised Sprouts Preschool Program. If you are interested in our mixed age program at Madrone Trail, please come by the office and pick up an application, or email the Office Manager: [email protected]

Please review the following to make sure our program is a good fit for your family:

Sprout Program Hours of Operation are Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 12:30pm.

**After Care is available on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays from 12:30pm – 3:15pm for an

additional $25/per day. Pre-enrollment is required. Space is limited to 3 Sprouts per class.

An Application Fee of $25.00 is a non-refundable deposit required to process your application and

evaluate eligibility into the Sprouts program. If your student is enrolled in the program, this fee is

applied to the supply fee.

A Supply Fee of $150.00 per year is required at time of enrollment. Less the submitted $25

application fee. This reserves your space in the program.

The Sprout Program Tuition is $520 per month (through June) due by the first day of enrollment.

Payments are DUE by the 5th of each month. **There is a 5% discount applied if paid in full.

Auction Update-

February 25 at the Historic Ashland Armory

Auction planning is going really well and the event is shaping up to be a banger! Thank you to the parents with businesses who have donated products or services so far! Your support means a lot!

The next Auction Committee meeting is Tuesday, January 17 at 3:45 pm at Hummingbird.

Room for More

We are still seeking sponsors. Information about cash sponsorship rewards can be found here. Digital forms are here: cash sponsorship / in-kind donations.

Tickets

Tickets should be on sale shortly after our return from winter break. Want to work for your ticket? We will also need an army of volunteers to power the event. Have fun making the magic happen and earn a free ticket and dinner in the process. A list of different job descriptions can be found here. This is a read-only document. Please email [email protected] to sign up for a work slot. Several people have reached out so far, thank you! We would love to have more help as well.

Thank you sponsors!

Thank you to the following businesses for pledging their cash support to the auction!

Immunization Deadline

All students need to be up to date on their immunizations and have the necessary documentation turned in OR have their exemptions filed by the Exclusion Date: February 15, 2023. If Madrone Trail does not have either of these things for your child, they will be excluded from school after that time. Note: 13 year olds are required to get the TDap booster, so if your child is in 7th grade, they will need this one before the deadline. Exemption information can be found here. Sherrie has sent out reminders to those who are not up to date. If you are unable to make an appointment with your regular doctor, Jackson County Health Dept. (541-774-8200) also offers immunization services. If you have any questions, let Sherrie know: [email protected]

Body Basics and Beyond

Body Basics and Beyond offers puberty preparedness programs for youth grades 4-8 along with guidance and support for their parenting adults. Over six classes in groups of 6-10, youth playfully learn about the physical and emotional changes they can experience during puberty and adolescence. Within safe and brave space guided by experienced educators and amongst peers, youth explore who they are becoming while normalizing one of the most misunderstood times in life. We have programs for girls grades 4-8 and grades 6-8 for boys (Mr. Barbee is the boys' program educator!) Our winter schedule of classes was just released through our Winter Newsletter. For more information about Body Basics or to register for most classes, please go to bodybasicsandbeyond.com. If you have any questions please email Karen O'Dougherty at [email protected]

Community Event

This is offered by the Siskiyou School for anyone interested. No childcare is provided this time.
