Re-Enrollment

With our 93% retention rate, it is reasonable to streamline our re-enrollment process. The process is structured so that current students will be automatically re-enrolled for the 2025-2026 school year. Enrollment fees of $300 per student will be charged February 1, 2025 to the FACTS account on file to be paid on February tuition payment date. Families in need of an extension payment plan must also contact the Business Office by January 10. Re-enrollment fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If, for some reason, your student will not be returning to St. Joseph Catholic School, notification in writing is needed by January 10, 2025. We are confident that you will find this expedited and recurring re-enrollment process helpful. If you have any questions, please contact Tisha Hilliard (thilliard@sjcherndon.org or 703-880-4355) in the Business Office.

Farewell, Father Matt!

With grateful hearts!

Peace and good! The year 2025 will begin with several transitions for the Friars.

We will say our thanks and share our “good byes” with Father Matt Russick, TOR. He is reassigned to Gaming, Austria, the European campus of the Franciscan University of Steubenville. As Father Matt shared: “we take a vow of obedience and go where we are called to go.” He will begin his ministry in February. Please join me in thanking Father Matt for sharing his gift of ministry and fraternity with us.

A Friar will be assigned to the parish as Parochial Vicar in the coming weeks.

Please join us this Sunday in Parish Hall C after the 11:00 am Mass and 3:00 pm Mass for a reception to offer our thanks to Father Matt for the gifts of his vocation and ministry.

Read about walking pneumonia

What Is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. Normally, the small sacs in the lungs are filled with air. In someone diagnosed with pneumonia, the air sacs fill up with pus and other fluid.

In general, pneumonia is not contagious, but the respiratory viruses and bacteria that lead to it are. Therefore, it is important that you keep your child home and take them to the doctor for an evaluation if they are suffering from fever and cold symptoms with prolonged coughing that has lasted > 10 days, is getting worse and not improving.
