Not Feeling Well? Stay Home!

This is a reminder to keep your child home if they are complaining of not feeling well. Students are coming to school sick with a fever, or with symptoms such as nausea and other overwhelming respiratory symptoms and are sent home after their exposure to their classmates. We are aware that sometimes the symptoms can be misleading especially if your child suffers from seasonal allergies BUT I ask that if your child is not acting themselves and is complaining of not feeling well or they have a temperature of 100 degrees and above with symptoms that you please keep them home.

If you must send them to school without being confident about the cause of their symptoms such as  their seasonal allergies, or that their symptoms are due to a pre-existing chronic condition, please have them evaluated by their doctor with a clearance note before returning to school.

We are trying to break the cycle of illness as best as we can. However, if students continue to come to school sick especially after complaining about not feeling well the morning of school, this cycle will continue.

We all have a role to play in keeping our children as healthy as possible and in attendance. The school can only do so much. We need your cooperation to be successful.

We thank the parents that have been diligent in following the sick policy and keeping their children home when sick. We ask other parents to get on board because this is one of the best ways to control spread of illness in our school community.

As a reminder of the sick policy, your child may return to school when they are fever free/vomit free/diarrhea free for 24hours without taking any over the counter medicine. The school COVID policy is on the nurses’ page. We will update this policy once we get the instructions to do so.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding concerning this important health issue.
