Parents, please be aware that for some children, the only symptom of Strep may be vomiting; some children do not have any fever or no complaint of a sore throat. I would like to stress that if your child is not acting like themself or is exhibiting any symptoms of illness please do not just keep them home, self-treat, and send them back to school only for them to start showing symptoms later.
When your child starts manifesting multiple symptoms, they have already exposed their classmates to their illnesses. As a result, the cycle of infection continues.
We continue to do our part in school and ask for your support in controlling the spread of illness by keeping your child home if they are sick and taking them to their doctor for testing and treatment as appropriate.

Not Feeling Well? Stay Home! | |
This is a reminder to keep your child home if they are complaining of not feeling well. Students are coming to school sick with a fever, or with symptoms such as nausea and other overwhelming respiratory symptoms and are sent home after their exposure to their classmates. We are aware that sometimes the symptoms can be misleading especially if your child suffers from seasonal allergies BUT I ask that if your child is not acting themselves and is complaining of not feeling well or they have a temperature of 100 degrees and above with symptoms that you please keep them home.
If you must send them to school without being confident about the cause of their symptoms such as their seasonal allergies, or that their symptoms are due to a pre-existing chronic condition, please have them evaluated by their doctor with a clearance note before returning to school.
We are trying to break the cycle of illness as best as we can. However, if students continue to come to school sick especially after complaining about not feeling well the morning of school, this cycle will continue.
We all have a role to play in keeping our children as healthy as possible and in attendance. The school can only do so much. We need your cooperation to be successful.
We thank the parents that have been diligent in following the sick policy and keeping their children home when sick. We ask other parents to get on board because this is one of the best ways to control spread of illness in our school community.
As a reminder of the sick policy, your child may return to school when they are fever free/vomit free/diarrhea free for 24hours without taking any over the counter medicine. The school COVID policy is on the nurses’ page. We will update this policy once we get the instructions to do so.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding concerning this important health issue.

Hello SJS/SJC Community,
I hope the year has been treating you well since I last popped in here to say something. Basketball season has been moving along and I want to take a moment to say thank you to the entire community. From the athletes to the parents to the parish and the school for making this work! It truly takes a village!
With that said, Basketball is winding down and Spring sports is ramping up! Spring sports consists of Track and Field (Grades 3 - 8 girls and boys) and Volleyball (Grades 3 - 8 girls only)
For Track and Field if you are interested in helping out or volunteering please let me know and I will put you in contact with our Track and Field coaches. The link to register for track and field is hyperlinked here.
For Volleyball, grade levels are combined. Meaning 3rd and 4th graders are together on a team, 5th and 6th graders are together on a team, 7th and 8th graders are together on a team. We are looking for Volleyball coaches, if you are interested in coaching Volleyball, please reach out and let me know ASAP. The link to register for volleyball is hyperlinked here.
