Message from School Nurse
A kindly reminder that all medication must be picked up by a parent by the last day of school, Tuesday, June 11. Students are not allowed to carry medication unless the student has physician permission to carry it. Medication left in the clinic after June 11 will be taken to the school office, and discarded if not retrieved. As an added convenience, on June 11, Mrs. Mich and Mrs. Swaney will be located in the front office area for medication pick-up during the hours of 7:45am-8:20am and 11:10am-11:45am. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Church Doors - Reminder
Just a friendly reminder in the event that you've missed it in the April Bernie's Bark:

It was with great sadness that we watched events unfold in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, and unsuccessful the attempt made at St. Patrick Cathedral, as well as the awful event that occurred at the Poway Synagogue. We are always concerned with student safety, and after much reflection and prayer, Father Tom and I agree that in light of recent attacks on houses of worship, we will lock the church doors during student Mass, and other student events that take place in the church. If you are able to attend student Mass, please be aware that the  church doors will be locked at 9:30am   .

**Please keep in mind that all school Masses, graduations, and events held in the church will follow these guidelines.
We appreciate your support!**
Welcome Saints Ambassadors
Would you like to welcome new families into
our SJS community?
Serve as a Welcome Saints Ambassador
for 2019-2020 school year.
We are looking for current SJS families who would like to become Welcome Saints Ambassadors.  As an ambassador you will be paired with new families to welcome them by email or phone and give assistance to questions they may have entering our school community. You may not know all the answers but just by welcoming and sharing your experiences can make a difference to a new family. There will be a "meet and greet" for ambassadors and new families the Sunday before school begins after the 8:30am Mass on August 25th.
If you are willing to share the SJS spirit and make a new family feel welcomed and appreciated please respond to JoEllen Mountcastle, [email protected] , so that you can be paired up with a new family.

Old Markers, Sharpies, Pens, Highlighters Needed!
It is the end of the year and as you are cleaning out desks and backpacks please consider dropping off old markers, sharpies, pens and highlighters into the box at the student morning entrance near the nurses office. Crayola and schools across North America are banding together to help kids understand the importance of their role in protecting the environment. That’s why we launched Crayola ColorCycle. Through this initiative, students in K-12 schools across the continental United States and parts of Canada can collect and repurpose used markers. Crayola pays for shipping! You can drop off any brand (NO CRAYONS please). Look for the color cycle symbol on the box. It will be at the entrance until school ends.
Thank you!
