Mosquito Control

Dallas County has completed ground spraying in Rowlett Zones 1, 4, and 5 to combat West Nile Virus. Spraying took place July 30-31 (Zones 1, 5) and July 31-August 1 (Zone 4). To prevent mosquito breeding, residents should eliminate standing water and consider using free mosquito dunks available at Community Development.

To opt out of future spraying, email Healthservices@rowlett.com.

🐶 Animal Shelter Spotlight 🐱

ALL ADOPTIONS ARE CURRENTLY FREE

The Rowlett Animal Shelter is currently code red, we are out of space, and we urgently need your help! Our furry friends are in desperate need of being reclaimed, adopted, or fostered. Please, if you have room in your heart and home, consider giving these precious animals a second chance at a happy life.

Come Meet Sandy!

Hi, I'm Sandy, an affectionate and gentle pup who's all about love! I adore being around my favorite humans and will happily follow them everywhere. A little shy at first, I quickly warm up to new friends with gentle encouragement. Squeaky toys and cozy blankets are my absolute favorites – they make me feel safe and secure. I get along great with other furry friends, too! If you already have pets at home, a meet-and-greet would be a great idea to ensure we'll be the best of companions. As much as I love the shelter staff, my heart's desire is a family of my own to love and cherish.

If you’d like to meet Sandy or any of the adoptable animals, please contact Animal Services at 972 412-6219 or come by the shelter at 4402 Industrial St. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday- Saturday.
