1) Children's Ministry is having a brief intro meeting after the 9:45 AM service, in the Fellowship Hall.

Come connect with other kids and families, hear about the fall schedule of events, and meet Pastor Ohhwan if you haven't already! THERE WILL BE SNACKS! (Children's Ministry is for preschool - 5th graders)

2) YOUTH will begin their regular junior and senior high Sunday School classes on 8/14.

IN ADDITION, there will be a Parent meeting that evening, from 4-6 pm with parents new to the youth ministry arriving at 4 pm and returning parents at 5 pm. If you're not on the YOUTH NEWSLETTER LIST sign up HERE!

Classes & Groups!

Next weekend.. Saturday, August 13, 2022. The FUMC United Methodist Men will hold their monthly breakfast meeting on the second Saturday of each month. Come join the men of our church for breakfast fellowship and brotherly love. The meeting will be in the Fellowship Hall downstairs, starting at 08:30. Fredericksburg United Methodist Church

United Women in Faith (UMW) invites ALL women of ALL ages to our annual meeting on Sunday, August 28th immediately after the 11:15 service on Methodist Green (or Fellowship Hall if raining/excessive heat). A light lunch will be provided. Join us as we plan for the upcoming year, complete a hands-on mission project, and enjoy a time of fellowship.

The SERVE Committee and the Methodist Men are sponsoring a Mission Opportunity where we are partnering with SAWS (Servants At Work) to build a wheelchair ramp for a 71-year stroke victim. To help with this mission there are several different ways you can help.

Assist with the installation of the Ramp on August 6th - THIS SATURDAY!

Donate to the cost of the build (approx. $2,500)

Assist with providing lunch

We hope you will find your "ONE THING" that Pastor Gina challenged of us!

There is an immediate need for donations towards a vehicle for the Afghan family we are sponsoring. Make checks payable to FUMC and earmarked to "Afghan refugee" or donate through SimpleChurch in the drop-down fund of the same name!

Volunteers continue to meet in the old fellowship hall on the ground floor but the schedule has been changed for the group to meet every Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM to make crafts for the Fall November 5th Bazaar. During these Monday crafting sessions, all of the supplies, materials, and instructions are provided to the volunteers. Craft ideas are always welcome from anyone interested in helping out with the bazaar. Besides volunteers working at the church on those Mondays, anyone who prefers to make crafts in their home are also encouraged. If you have any questions about the crafting work for the Bazaar, please contact either Janet Davis - Email [email protected] (Phone (540) 371-1045); or Sharon Blancard - Email [email protected]

In addition - We also encourage church members to prepare some ‘goodies’ now/ahead of time that can be sold at the Bake Sale during the Bazaar. For example Jams/Jellies; any type of baked good that can be frozen such as Cookies or Sweet Bread (i.e., Zucchini Bread; Banana Bread); and any other items pre-made and stored or frozen.

What can you pick up?!

All funds raised will go directly towards our 2022/23 Family Ministry program, which enables kids and families to participate in retreats and off-site activities at low cost

Our CONNECT team is working with Mary Washington University's Campus Christian Community in an effort to develop better connections to the next generation! There will be opportunities to provide food and fellowship and/or, be a mentor - "Home away from home" for a local student!
