This week's adventures...
The first full week of the 2017-2018 school year was "topped off" by our annual Grandparents' Day Celebration! This beautiful school tradition welcomes our Kindergarten through Grade 2 grandparents to our facility for some fun! Students offered thoughtful cards, had photo opportunities, played some good old fashioned BINGO, danced a bit, and created some wonderful memories! Thank you to all of our SEC members for making this tradition a reality, and for all of our grandparents who attended today's festivities!
We had a great week overall, and students are getting back "into the swing" of school procedures, and expectations. Students are also becoming reacquainted with classwork, homework, quizzes and tests! The summer (and the 'honeymoon phase" of being back to school) is officially over! Thank you for your continued support of your child(ren)'s academic success at home, as we view our parents as an essential component of our students' success!

I learned on Thursday that our new gym teacher, Mr. Greg Seery, would not be returning to St. Francis. The gym teachers we have employed for the past four years are contracted through an organization called Young World. Often the teachers are gaining experience with Young World and end up moving on to the public school for various reasons. Mr. Seery was offered a job that he couldn't refuse, leaving us with a new gym teacher to be introduced to our school family next week. Young World has been quite successful in securing our school with excellent PE staff, and I have no doubt that our new teacher, Miss Hillary Andrews, is not only fully qualified, but will also be well received by our students and staff.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we persevere in our school's mission... even when minor kinks arise!

Have a nice weekend and God bless-
Mrs. Russo

On the walk out of the school building at dismissal one day this week, the following conversation unfolded between myself and a student:
Me: "What was the best part of your day?"
Student: "Pretty much every part was the best part...
but I know the worst part of my day..."
Me: "What was the worst part?"
Student: "This part.... I don't want to have to leave."
