One Health, Many Zebrafish: 2019 AALAS National Meeting Recap
The zebrafish research community might be little fish in the big pond of AALAS, but it received some well-deserved recognition at this year's AALAS National Meeting in Denver. The Zebrafish Seminar Program titled "Zebrafish Husbandry and Veterinary Care: One Health Based on Many Small Fish” delved into the assertion that "zebrafish offer a unique, cost-effective means to study many critical issues of our time...this b road utility positions the zebrafish as a key model to explore and document the paradigm of the One Health approach." (Laboratory Animal Science Magazine, September 2019, pg. 39).

Several leaders of the zebrafish research community, Lauren Pandolfo, Tannia Clark, Christian Lawrence, Marcus Crim, Kathleen Snell, and Monte Matthews, spoke at the seminar about development of One Health aquatic programs and other notable zebrafish husbandry subjects.

For more information on One Health, check out the interesting interview with Dr. Guy Palmer, the 2019 AALAS National Meeting keynote speaker, in the September 2019 issue of Laboratory Animal Science Professional.
I wish I had gotten my registration in on time...
The 2019 AALAS National Meeting logged in over 4,300 attendees who enjoyed all the Mile High City had to offer, including selfies with the Blue Bear!
From an engaging keynote lecture from Dr. Guy Palmer on One Health to a robust education program to an exciting exhibit hall, the meeting experience was well-received by all attendees.
The mobile app shattered last year's download record, and 3,048 unique users enjoyed using this amazing meeting tool. The scavenger hunt game had incredible participation, and we are looking forward to announcing the winners in the November LAS Pro email.
The exhibit hall was hopping every day with attendees and exhibitors visiting and making connections. AALAS wants to thank all of our exhibitors and the record-breaking number of sponsors we had for this year's meeting. Your support creates a great experience for the AALAS membership and guests.
Our December magazine will include a full meeting recap. Don't miss it! Remember, if you attended the meeting, you should have received an email with a link to a survey. This survey helps us plan your meeting experience. Be sure to participate by November 1.
Thanks for making #AALAS19 such a great meeting, and we are looking forward to #AALAS20 in Charlotte, NC.
