☀️🦩 Let’s Flamingle, Shawnee! This Week Packed with Music, Main Street, Markets, Horses and Horse Power! 🦩🦩

Summer is officially heating up, and we have packed this newsletter with the ultimate lineup of family-friendly programs to keep your sunny days rolling right on track. We are kicking things off on June 2nd 5:00 - 8:00pm with the return of the Main Street Shop & Stroll, where it’s time to "flamingle" because this party is so much more fun with YOU there! Wear your pink, or a fun fedora, or just a pair of your favorite shades. Turn in your passport for a chance at $500+ in gift cards.

If you want to keep your weekdays from staying under wraps, the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Arts—Oklahoma's oldest art museum and home to the state's only Egyptian mummies—is hosting Art Mania Free Tuesdays. You can also bring a lawn chair for a relaxing evening with good people at their Thursday courtyard concerts (the best free show in town...), or catch their new tribal show reception, Echoes of Time and Place: Sauk Art and Culture, featuring an insightful guest speaker.

For an equally legendary night, the Historic Ritz Theater will be absolutely rocking with Hotel Desperado (a Tribute to the Eagles) and T.R.O.Y. (The Reality of Yourself), delivering a spectacular mix of nostalgic, soaring classic rock harmonies and high-energy modern rock.

Come and go as you please at Music Unlimited’s first-Friday Singer Songwriter Night to hear raw, local talent. Then, prepare to be uplifted by the beautiful harmonies of the Shawnee Peace & Praise Community Choir Spring Concert at the Abbey.

If you're looking to score some incredible local treasures, you can market your calendars for a massive shopping weekend featuring the VFW Garage & Vendor Sale, the Shawnee Farmers' Market, and the OneSixty Farmers' Market. Help us celebrate a new chapter by sending a big congratulations to Lost Pages Book Store for their Grand Opening & Author Day!

If you are craving some high-octane excitement, stop horsing around and catch the Central Plains Youth Rodeo, where the next generation of talented young cowboys and cowgirls will showcase their incredible roping and riding skills. This leads right into one of Shawnee's biggest arena events of the year: the Bonus Race World Finals barrel racing action from June 8-14.

If you need to cool down after all that walking, water you waiting for? The brand-new Optimist Park Splash Pad is making its grand debut on June 4th at 2:00 PM (3310 N Market Ave), offering the perfect spot for the kids to cool off. Remember Shawnee Splash Water Park is OPEN for business downtown Shawnee this summer.

Go ahead and book your hotel room and make it a weekend in Shawnee!
