IN WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
"Jezebel: Sinful Seductress or Savvy-Stateswoman?"
Alternatively described as devious, evil-personified, and a whore - her name is literally synonymous with shameful wickedness in women. But a deep dive into the context and culture of this Phoenician princess - that history has loved to hate - might just unearth another story.

Jezebel was a zealot for her faith tradition and wielded power from her throne. So, was she really a bad-to-the-bone temptress or was it her politics that got her into so much trouble?

PRAYERS OF OUR COMMUNITY
Please Hold These Joys and Concerns in Your Prayers This Week
For the Zion Church community as they heal from vandalism on their building - that the offender is given an option for community service

For Florence C.'s 92nd birthday

For all stripes of mothers

For the blessing of the Jacques family to reconnect and celebrate time together

For refugees and asylum seekers - that they receive the support and safety they deserve

For "Music of Hope" on May 23, the Malden-based Immigration and Refugee ministry annual concert to raise awareness and money for their mission

For all of God's creation - that one of Stephanie H. and Luke C.'s hens heals quickly from an altercation with a larger animal and the larger animal found its meal elsewhere

For AJ O. as he continues to heal from his surgeries last spring - that he receive mental clarity and physical support as he navigates forward on his journey

For every kind of parent-to-child relationship - that everyone feels love and support

For John S. as he visits with his family on the West Coast - that he has a fulfilling vacation and returns safely

For the soothing comfort we find in God amidst the crazy, complex world we inhabit - that we never forget we are His beloved children

For all these prayers and those that go unspoken, we pray in God's name
Amen
