Hello from Kris Sheridan

Dear Kris,

I’ll bet many of you didn’t know the church has a Marketing Manager — we do, and it’s me! I coordinate all the internal and external communications for the church including the website, newsletter, social media, flyers, brochures, posters, outdoor banners, etc.

The past several years, I have been working with our friends at A Sanctified Art to bring you Lent/Advent resources that offer rich poetry, artwork, music, and journaling prompts. Pick up your Lent resources at church, access them on our website (password: LENT2024), or contact the church office and we’ll mail them to you.

Looking forward to meeting you,

Kris

Spring Choir Concert

Friday, March 8 • 7 pm • Sanctuary • Reception following

Tickets

Invite friends and family to the spring choir concert featuring our Chancel Choir, the Cupertino High School choirs, orchestra, and organ. The concert features Dan Forrest’s powerful Requiem for the Living. The music moves from pouring out grief, to wrestling with pain and sorrow, to finding hope in Christ’s redemption, seeing God’s glory in His creation, and arriving at peace in Christ. Several rousing spiritual settings featuring tenor soloist Trente Morant round out the program.

7 pm Service • Sanctuary

Can you believe Lent is almost upon us? Join us this Wednesday evening as we begin the season of Lent with a service of reflection and the imposition of ashes. (This special worship service will blend with our usual Modern Worship Collective that night.) Worship begins at 7, or arrive early to join our community meal in Fellowship Hall at 6:15. We look forward to sharing this special evening with you!

Ministry Area Name Change

At Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, our session operates with nine ministry areas. Recently, the Discipleship Ministry has voted to change its name to Community Life and Learning (CL&L) to better reflect all that is housed in this area. The Art of Dying Well

Sunday, February 25 • 11:30 am

Soulé Hall & online

How do we approach the inevitable event of our death? Most don’t know that there are options. Come hear from those in our congregation whose loved ones were faced with a difficult, terminal diagnosis and how they chose to be in charge of the way their life would end. While this is a very heavy topic, the stories of joy, strength, and love will encourage all who attend. Speakers include Carol Heath, Betsy Brittle and Rev. Karin Hejmanoski.
