Greetings! we are pleased to present your May 2020 First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay newsletter!
A One-Month Newsletter

Because of the ongoing changes happening in our lives in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided that a one month newsletter will serve our purposes better at this time.
Stewardship Thought

During these unprecedented and trying times, please remember that while we no longer hold Sunday worship services, there are still bills to pay and other support functions that continue. If you are able, please consider making your pledged giving online , or send a check to the church office. We are truly blessed with the outpouring of support from our congregation!
New Pantry Procedures
May 12 & 26

The Pantry will continue to operate during the pandemic, with changes in how the groceries are provided to our guests. The procedures will continue: everything will be pre-bagged and distributed at the entrance to the door on Howard St on normal pantry days (2nd and 4th Tuesdays, May 12 & 26 from 10 am to noon.) This provides for the least amount of person-to-person contact, as guests will pick up the bag(s) on the sidewalk table and bring them to their vehicles.
Pantry Request for May

For May, the Pantry volunteers are requesting donations of jello. However, with the pandemic in mind, perhaps you would be willing to make a monetary donation. Checks sent to the office should be made out to Presbyterian Pantry of Green Bay, or donations online ( should have the Pantry noted as the fund to which you are donating. You can also support the pantry through Amazon Smile: Shop at and AmazonSmile donates to Presbyterian Pantry of Green Bay! Thank you!
First United Facebook Live Services Continue
Sundays at 9:45 am

Our friends at First United Presbyterian Church are continuing to conduct a “virtual” church service online. You can view the service in one of these ways:
Premiere Video on their Facebook page on Sundays, 9:45am:
-or- any other time on Facebook
Sunday & Thursday Fellowship on ZOOM
Sun. 10:15 am; Thurs. 6:30 pm

As we continue our Safer at Home journey, we are happy to be able to provide a way to "get together" virtually, through the use of the ZOOM technology. As the meetings are scheduled, Connie will continue to send you an email blast outlining the dates, logins, IDs and passwords for the upcoming Sundays at 10:15 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Those who don't have the ability to go online will still be able to call in with the information provided. We hope that you will join us for the next best thing to being able to gather in person. It is great to see people's faces!
ZOOM Sunday School
Sundays at 11 am

Immediately following our Sunday fellowship on ZOOM, we have scheduled online Sunday School sessions at 11:00 a.m. Children can continue their Sunday School lessons via the computer or smartphone. Once parents get the kids on ZOOM, the teacher will guide the half-hour meeting, with a prayer, an activity, a Bible story, and discussion and participation. Enjoy!
Save the April 24 Email
Important Zoom meeting information

You should have received an email on April 24 outlining the dates, phone numbers and/or links, and participation IDs for all of the online meetings that First Pres is initiating on ZOOM through the end of May. Please save that information as you will need it for each meeting. We hope to see you at multiple meetings and fellowship events!
Feed My Starving Children

Please keep FMSC in your prayers. As a result of COVID-19, all mobilepacks and permanent sites have been closed until further notice. This means no meals are being packed, and no malnourished children around the world are receiving meals. FMSC is trying to utilize other methods to pack food, such as automated mechanical means, but this is more costly, and requires donations. The Green Bay Mobilepack has stepped up and donated $18,200 to FMSC to help with this effort. These funds were the surplus from last year’s fund raising effort, and were planned to be used for the mobilepack this October. Please consider a donation (through our church) to FMSC if you are able.
Pastor Nominating Committee Update by Bruce Deadman

The PNC is hard at work thanks to Zoom. We continue to review resumes and interview candidates and continue to feel very good about where we are in the process. Please be patient and keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Bruce also noted, "A Big Thanks to our great staff: They have all stepped up to the plate during this difficult time."
Thank you to our Sunday School Teachers

Thank you very much to our Sunday School teachers for this school year! Thank you to Cassandra Aceituno & Gaby Jimenez, Kathleen Ford, Deb Gauthier, Brenda Hubbard, Jill Stenson, and Amy Wittman.
Pantry Appreciation

I would like to thank all of First Presbyterian's quieter heroes...the many who have called me in this past month, who have sent cards, texts and messages to making sure Pantry is continuing, and making sure they will still have their volunteer spot when we return to our new normal. The ones who have shared their hearts and stories and fears and triumphs since the world turned upside down. The ones who live alone, yet manage to keep a positive attitude and manage to eat healthy as well as have some form of exercise while confined. I am often thanked for all I do for the Pantry through the church, and am given money, cards, gifts, and even lunch at Culvers! But today I choose to thank and honor you. Without all of you quiet heros, we, as a church and a pantry, could not serve this neighborhood in all the mission work we do. God bless you all with peace and blessings until we come together. With respect and a heart full of love and gratitude,
