"Get Up and Go"
Jesus Heals Ten Men with Leprocy
An emerging theme of the second half of the Pentecost season is the call to live now the promise of God’s future realities. Perhaps this is no surprise in a year when we read from the gospel of Luke, a book filled with the work of justice and with calls to live and proclaim such. The readings this week bring God’s reality into the lives of the marginalized, as an inbreaking of justice for those who have been cast out of their community. Like the ten men who Jesus healed - we are called to "Get Up and Go!"
But where are we to go? What are we to go and do?
How do we get up, respond to the healing we receive and go build community?

Rev. Wendy will preach some "Get Up and Go!"
Prayer for the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
O God, you are the God who moves. You move over the waters of chaos and bring creation. You move ahead of us on our journeys through the wildernesses of life. You moved into the flesh, and you came to those of us others avoided. May you move in our hearts as well. Move us toward compassion. Move us toward peace. Move us toward thanksgiving. Amen.
