Celebrating St. Joseph

On May 13th, Malvern Retreat House (MRH) hosted an online FREE event. We had an extraordinary response to the event with over 600 people registering. Father Chris Walsh shared reflections on spiritual growth through devotion to St. Joseph. This was the first-of-its-kind event for MRH. As most of you know, we sent out quite a few emails encouraging people to register and attend. The program was that important! St. Joseph is that important!

We met the $40,000 match and, in total, surpassing more than $94,000 of much-needed operating funds for the Retreat House. We are deeply grateful to the donors who contributed to this effort. The mission of Malvern Retreat House is to bring people closer to God, and we are confident that through this program people deepened their devotion to St. Joseph. If you did not attend the Virtual Event, we invite you to visit the Celebrate St. Joseph website and watch the replay!

Moving Forward

As of June 1, 2021, many of the mandated COVID restrictions - from capacity limitations to social distancing and travel restrictions have been lifted. Here at Malvern Retreat House, that means we can happily welcome and invite more guests to experience the joy and peace that comes with attending a retreat, program, or event onsite! We are thrilled to be almost back to normal. MRH will continue to monitor the COVID situation and modify our procedures as needed. Our goal is to ensure that all feel welcomed and to keep retreatants and staff safe.

We have learned much over the last year. We continue to work on improving our retreats, food, and hospitality. We upgraded sanitation and safety standards for COVID and that will continue into the future. Now, more than ever people are seeking peace and rest. Come to Malvern Retreat House for a program, event, or retreat. You will not regret the gift you give to yourself and to God.
Archbishop Perez Visits Malvern

Malvern Retreat House was honored to have Archbishop Perez visit on May 6th. He is pictured here with Mark Poletunow, President of Malvern Retreat House. The Archbishop was attending an event sponsored by the Office of Evangelization. The Archbishop celebrated Mass in the Family Life Center for a new initiative of the Office of Evangelization, the Commission for Ministry Disciples. We are grateful to the Archbishop for his friendship with Malvern Retreat House and his leadership in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia!

What is it? The Good Shepherd Club is our way of honoring those who helped secure the future of Malvern by including a gift to Malvern Retreat House as part of their estate plan.

What is the benefit? Becoming a member of our Good Shepherd Club is a win-win. You win in two ways, 1) You will have peace of mind and a good feeling knowing that your legacy will continue at Malvern, and 2) A gift from your estate does not impact your current daily cash flow. Malvern wins by receiving your gift, thus ensuring the future of your beloved retreat house for generations to come. This is your Legacy of Faith.

How do I become a member? Becoming a Good Shepherd Club member is easy. You can join by:
  • Including Malvern in your will or estate plan
  • Naming Malvern as a beneficiary of your life insurance plan
  • Making a life-income gift
