At our recent program staff retreat, one issue that stood out was the disconnection and even loneliness affecting so many in our society today.
Are these things that affect you or members of your household or neighborhood? If you have ideas about this, or if you want to suggest things that Sunnyvale Pres should keep (or start) doing to help keep us connected, please take the time to connect face-to-face with a staff member or officer.
In the meantime, I invite you to connect with us to build community and relationships! Come celebrate with us on Promotion Sunday and enjoy a potluck picnic in the park together on June 4. Nominate those who are gifted as leaders in caring or governance who can bring us together and guide us. Check out our informal midweek worships or ask Carol Heath about a small group. Let’s connect and support each other!

Letter of Support to Loomis Basin Congregational Church
Loomis Basin UCC is a queer-affirming church near Sacramento that supports LGBTQ+ students in local schools. Last March, the church was targeted by an extremist group’s misinformation campaign, resulting in attacks on the church and their programs being shut down. Our church session voted to send a financial donation and letter of support to the church and letters of support to various school board and town council members. April, the first month of our fiscal year, had strong income from both general offerings and pledges. Church income of $165K for the month was offset by church spending of $117K, resulting in a church surplus of $48K. The outreach groups (PELC and The Music School) had a surplus of $45K in April, resulting in a combined surplus of $93K.
