IN WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
New Year / New You

Having a "new life in Christ" is one of those poetic and beautifully evocative phrases you often hear repeated in church.
But what in the world does it actually mean?
As we stand at the start of a new year, we will take a moment to stop and reflect on what it means to have new life in Christ and how each of us can get it.
We hope you can join us!

PRAYERS OF OUR COMMUNITY
Please Hold These Joys and Concerns in Your Prayers This Week
For the beginning of the COVID19 vaccinations

For peace in the world - through individuals, countries, and organizations - that we all love each other

For Kate E.'s mother's housing community that has confirmed cases of COVID - that those afflicted heal quickly and that the rest of the community stays safe

For the joy of receiving and giving gifts that enhance this holiday season

For the patience in dealing with technological difficulties

For Annette's family as new chapters are opened and new spaces are filled

For the pageant - Rev. Tom editing, the musician's beautiful work, everyone who participated by sending in clips, and those who joined us online to enjoy it

For all the healthcare workers across the worldFor Jess.'s new project, the acupressure relief for healthcare workers

For Lindsey M.'s family as their son's preschool confirms a COVID case in a child - that the child heals quickly and for the safety of these affected families and staff

For Rev. Tom's pup, Mabel, who has kennel cough

For all the different kinds of inoculation and that we appreciate the gifts of modern medical science

For our 'super' congregation and faith communities that come together every week

For the gift of enjoying other's creative talents

For our resilience as people and a community

For the little joys we can offer each other during this time

For the guests who joined our service this week

For the staff of Sanctuary and Hillside - Bailey, Ray, Charmaine, Barbara, and the leadership and pastoral teams

For God's hope and peace that we see through other people and gifts they share

For all these prayers and those that go unspoken, we pray in God's name
Amen
