IN WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
The Parable of the Talents
With all the political turmoil and social conflict brought on by this election season, it’s easy to feel like you don’t have control of anything. However, with the parable of talents, Jesus reminds us that each of us has to role to play in building the kingdom of God’s love. The only way to get it wrong, he says, is to do nothing!

Join us this Sunday for worship we prepare our spirits for Election Day.

Prayer for This Sunday:
God, forgive us for the times we’ve failed to treat each other as Your creation. Forgive us for celebrating unloving behavior in our candidates and our leaders. Call our leaders and political candidates to a new level of respect and civility. Remind them that You are sovereign and that the wisest choice we can make is to serve You and serve others. May there be a new movement of collaboration and respect in our nation’s capital and throughout the country. Give Your people the strength to lead by example with radical, world-changing love.

MISSION AND MINISTRY
Congrat's and Thanks Rev. Tom for your Work with Friday Cafe!
The Mitch Snyder Award from First Church Cambridge
Rev. Tom has had the honor of helping Kate Layzer build up the Friday Café - a program that serves ~200 folks in need each week. Bringing together people of all walks of life the program offers space to break bread around a shared tables.

When COVID struck and upended that model, it was never really a question of IF we should continue caring for our most vulnerable neighbors but HOW. The Friday Café pivoted to serving meals outdoors and have not missed a single week. To learn more about the Friday Café or to donate to this worthy cause, go to www.thefriday.cafe

Last Call for New AntiRacist Study Group
Beginning Wednesday, November 04 (both 9 am and 7 pm)
The Pulitzer Prize–winning, bestselling author of The Warmth of Other Suns examines the unspoken caste system that has shaped America and shows how our lives today are still defined by a hierarchy of human divisions.

“As we go about our daily lives, caste is the wordless usher in a darkened theater, flashlight cast down in the aisles, guiding us to our assigned seats for a performance. The hierarchy of caste is not about feelings or morality. It is about power—which groups have it and which do not.”
