Happy Valentine's Day! Last month, we told you all about Parents on Point, a community-based support group for caregivers of children ages 2-8 that was created to empower and support participants in raising healthy and happy young children. The proud caregivers you see pictured below graduated from Parents on Point last month at Oyler School. Your support of Santa Maria's services helped these caregivers become "Super Parents!" Two more cohorts are beginning on February 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Oyler School and later this month at our East Price Hill Griswold Center.

Our Stable Families program is currently recruiting families that have at least one child enrolled in a Price Hill School. Stable Families helps children achieve school stability and academic success while caregivers receive assistance with personal goals and housing.

Meanwhile, our wellness program is busy planning our Spring Health Fair which is slated for Saturday, April 15th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Every Child Succeeds & Promoting Our Preschoolers Help Children Learn to Read

Little Azariah just turned 1! She loves the books that she receives from Every Child Succeeds each month. Her mom says that she is already using her beginning reading skills by pointing to pictures and, "telling us all about it."

Jessica’s Pursuit of Excellence in the Stable Families Program

The challenges of motherhood are part of what brought Jessica to seek Santa Maria’s help. “I was staying with a family member and in a rough place and I didn’t know what I would do,” Jessica said. Tashawna Lyle, a Stable Families Case Manager at Santa Maria, enrolled Jessica in our 18-month Stable Families program that develops personal goals for families on the brink of homelessness.
