News from Pastor Hardy

SVPC Children's Ministry logo

Dear Kris,

Last week we shared the news of Jenna’s upcoming departure. While saying good-bye is never easy, we’re excited for her to express God’s love in a new setting, and we wish her every blessing!

Such transitions also offer a natural opportunity to rethink our approach. We heard from many of you in the recent Ministry Architects listening sessions about the importance of welcoming and nurturing our young people. We agree! Together with Pastor Annanda, Pastor Rich, the Children’s Ministry elders, and Ministry Architects, we’re considering ways to reshape our staff and programs to better meet the needs and hopes expressed by our community, and to more deeply connect with young people and their parents in this post-pandemic world.

Please pray for all the leaders working toward what’s next for Children’s Ministry. If you want to help make the program thrive, please also consider volunteering on Sundays or at VBS! Stop by the volunteer table in Trinity Court this Sunday, or email to find out how you can help.

With hope,

Pastor Hardy

2nd Hike in Wunderlich County Park

Tomorrow! Saturday, May 10 • 9 am • RSVP

Group photo from a previous hike

Join us again this month for the 5-mile loop hike in Wunderlich County Park. This is a beautiful gradual hike up to an open meadow where we can listen to birds or watch deer and gophers. From that point, it’s a gradual downhill.

Due to tight parking, we’ll meet at 9 am at Woodside Elementary School, then shuttle to the park. Please RSVP so we know to look for you and know whom to contact if needed.

Church Office Hours During May

Some staff members are taking vacation or medical leave during the month of May. While the church office will be staffed during our regular business hours (M–Th, 9 am–4 pm), there may not be a person at the front desk at all times. If that’s the case when you stop by or call, please ring the doorbell or leave a phone message. Someone will answer the door or respond to your message shortly. Thanks for your flexibility!
