Loving our Neighbors Recovering from Multiple Hurricanes

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance • Donate

Dear Jennifer,

This week, Hurricane Milton was potentially Florida’s worst in 100 years. Less than two weeks earlier, Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc throughout the Southeast. People continue to struggle for the most basic of needs — food, water, and shelter. Clearly, the need for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has never been greater.

Our Mission & Service Ministry Team sent $1,000 to PDA to help families and churches coping with the disaster. Please consider contributing to PDA’s hurricane relief efforts.

In Gratitude,

Mission & Service Ministry Team

Financial Stewardship Campaign for 2025

SVPC 2025 Stewardship logo - a tree with rainbow-colored leaves surrounded by a blue-green gradient frame

Thank you to those who have already made your pledge of financial commitment to Sunnyvale Pres for 2025. Our goal is for everyone to make a pledge — no matter how large or small. Check out the progress poster in the narthex each Sunday as we add leaves on the tree in celebration of the pledges received on our way to full participation!

You may pledge online or by using the pledge card you received in the mail. (Extra pledge cards are available in the narthex and pew racks.)

Join us for a flat 5-mile hike along the Bay Trail at Shoreline Lake in Mountain View. Shannon Reilly (in town for a short visit) is leading this hike. We’ll meet in front of the American Bistro Cafe at Shoreline Lake, 3160 N. Shoreline Blvd.

If you can join us, please RSVP so we know to look for you and how to reach you in case plans change unexpectedly. We look forward to seeing you!

Join the Fun at Trunk or Treat!

Saturday, October 26 • 6:30–8:30 pm

Church parking lot

It’s time for one of our biggest community outreach events of the year: Trunk or Treat. We’re bringing back favorite activities such as the toy raffle, games, balloon artists, food, a photo booth, and more. We would absolutely love to see you there — as a trick-or-treater, a trunk, a volunteer, or even all three!

Sign up to volunteer or view our Amazon wishlist to donate nut-free candy and small giveaway toys. Thank you!

Presbyterian History: Where did we come from and where are we going?

Sunday, October 27 • 11:30 am • Hybrid (Soulé Hall & Zoom)

What does it mean to say we are Presbyterians? Join Rev. Dr. Jim Bennett as we take a brief look at the history of Presbyterianism and how it fits into the larger history of Christianity and its Protestant branches. We will look at its emergence during the Reformation and then trace its expansion, its many divisions and reunions, how it has changed over time, and consider what the future might hold.

Volunteer Opportunities

We’d love to have your help! Volunteering is a great way to participate in the life of the church — a small amount of your time goes a long way toward making these events happen.

Thanks in advance!
