Dear friends and supporters,

We hope you enjoyed the unofficial kickoff weekend of the summer! How was your Victoria Day long weekend?
We are very grateful to the Hallman Foundation for recognizing the urgency of this work, and investing in newcomer families in our community. Stay tuned to learn more about our progress.

Earlier this month, Reception House, Waterloo Region Immigration Partnership and the Region of Waterloo recognized 3 employers for championing the Working Together Project. Tigercat, Accumetal Manufacturing and JD Sweid Foods have been strong supporters of our project.

WTP is an innovative refugee program that combines work and language classes. Its mission is to create smoother pathways to employment for newcomers who are job ready.

To Tigercat, Accumetal and JD Sweid - we are thrilled by your support. YOU are helping to provide our government-assisted refugees a warm and welcoming community where everyone is welcome.

Can you keep a secret?
Reception House is on the move! But keep our news to yourselves for a little while. We'll be making an announcement in the summer as to where we're heading!

The concept of time lost is familiar to many of us, especially with the pandemic: it is the time when our lives get off course. We envision an ideal life for ourselves and make plans. However, fate deals us new realities — whether we like them or not — and we can only do our best to live through them with dignity, and never give up.

This painting, ‘Transformation’, is about the continuous change occurring around us. (Mai Ly)
