How Can Your House Number
Help You in an Emergency?
It’s Spare the Air Season:
Plan for Your Commute & Reduce Air Pollution
Warmer temperatures are here and so is the Spare the Air campaign. The Spare the Air program reminds people that fewer cars on the road can mean fewer smoggy days, and fewer Spare the Air Alerts. Take time to consider alternatives to driving alone. Poor air quality in the Bay Area affects everyone, but there is a higher risk for children, pregnant women, the elderly and those with respiratory problems, such as asthma or bronchitis.

By working to ensure everyone has the knowledge and tools they need to make the biggest difference possible, we can reduce air pollution – and Spare the Air Alerts.

Below are some ways to make a difference and plan ahead:
  • Carpool to work. If telecommuting isn’t an option, think about sharing a ride to work. Carpooling can significantly reduce air pollution and traffic.
  • Work from home. Ask your employer about telecommuting
  • Take public transit – plan now and check out the schedules in your area. Visit or to see routes and plan your trip.
For more information, visit or follow Spare the Air on Facebook, on Twitter @SpareTheAir and on Instagram @sparetheair.
San Mateo County Transit Authority Survey
San Mateo County Transportation Authority is asking for YOUR INPUT on how to allocate funding. Help frame transportation funding in Pacifica for the coming years by taking this survey!

In 2018, voters approved Measure W, a half-cent sales tax for transportation in San Mateo County. San Mateo County Transportation Authority will manage 50% of the measure. Currently, the agency is determining how to best evaluate projects so that those of greatest merit are priorities for future funding. You can learn more about the project here.
