Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

The City Council will discuss the final proposed budget for next fiscal year (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020) on Monday, June 10, followed by final adoption on June 24. The proposed budget, combined with the Council priorities adopted for next year, address a robust and important collection of initiatives. An overview of several themes woven into the budget and goals about the City Council’s visioning and planning of Pacifica is provided in my column in this week’s Tribune.

As a reminder, the recruitment for those interested in serving on the Unhoused in Pacifica (UP) Task Force closes next Friday, June 14! The application can be downloaded here or completed electronically here . If you, or someone you know, is interested in assisting with this critical task force work, please apply to be considered.

As always, go safely this week and please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you  for wanting to  Connect with Pacifica !

Sincerely,
KEVIN WOODHOUSE
City Manager

UP Task Force Applications
The Unhoused in Pacifica (UP) Task Force is now open! Pacifica Resource Center Executive Director, Anita Rees, and City Manager, Kevin Woodhouse, have worked collaboratively on the formation process for this important community task force. The application can be downloaded here or completed electronically here. The deadline for applications is Friday, June 14, after which top candidates will be interviewed by Friday, June 28. A more detailed informational report about what the formation process will entail is available at https://bit.ly/2QljzTb.

The need for a dedicated task force has grown out of an increase in recent years and months of the unhoused population in Pacifica and a proliferation of the unhoused living in over-sized vehicles, such as motorhomes. Recognizing the magnitude of this challenge and the City’s resource limitations, the Pacifica City Council identified the need for a Task Force of diverse stakeholders, representing the full spectrum of viewpoints about this topic, to volunteer their time and energy to research and define the unhoused and over-sized vehicle challenges in Pacifica and assess potential solutions. If you, or someone you know, is interested in assisting with this critical task force work, please apply to be considered.
