Greetings!
As we pause to remember those lost and injured in the terrorist attacks nineteen years ago today, and we see, feel, and taste the poor air quality from wildfires raging across California, and we mask-up and physically-distance and more to continue our efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it’s difficult to focus on and envision the future and the opportunities ahead of us. When I think of #Resiliency and #PacificaStrong, I think of the hard work so many Pacificans are pursuing to get through this vexing time and create future opportunities -- from restaurants and businesses adapting to the state and county health guidelines, to fire personnel assigned to assist with wildfires across the state, to students and their families adapting to the beginning of the school year, and the list goes on. On the City front, see the list of numerous updates and information below. One exciting project that is launching is the Beach Boulevard Infrastructure Resiliency Project, with a virtual community meeting on Thursday, September 24. Also, the City will soon have available County-made “ Our Comeback Depends On All of Us” window clings for businesses to use, helping to remind us that we’re all in this together.
Please let us know if you have comments or questions, and thank you for wanting to Connect with Pacifica.
Sincerely,
KEVIN WOODHOUSE
City Manager
