At the upcoming City Council meeting on Monday, April 12, the Council will adopt Goals and Priorities for Fiscal Year 2021-22 (July, 2021 through June, 2022) as their formal action following their goal-setting workshop in early March. The staff report for Goals Adoption is here. The Council will also be kicking off budget deliberations for the next year by reviewing the City’s Long-term Financial Forecast and Budget Strategies.  Additionally on Monday, the Council will receive an update from Chief of Police Dan Steidle about progress made on workplan actions for the Pacifica Police Department over the last year.

As a reminder, upcoming on April 14th at 6:00 p.m. is a Let’s Talk Housing -- Countywide Community Meeting to learn about how the Housing Element update process works for cities and to give your input about housing needs. “Let’s Talk Housing” is a collaborative effort of all the jurisdictions in San Mateo County focused on getting community feedback to shape City’s Housing Elements, organized through an ongoing initiative called 21 Elements. Learn more at letstalkhousing.org.

Pacifica Special Needs Registry. The Pacifica Special Needs Registry is a tool to help quickly provide our police officers with information about our community members with special needs should they become lost, are found, or are in need of assistance. Parents and care providers may enroll a person of any age with any medical, mental health condition, or disability including, but not limited to Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, Bipolar Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, or epilepsy. This week the Police Department received a report of an individual identifying themselves as a Pacifica Police officer in an attempt to entice a community member into providing them with "payment" in the form of gift cards or bitcoin over the telephone.

These scam artists can seem convincing by using the names of our police officers and "spoofing" the telephone number they are calling from to display the police department's public telephone number.

Our personnel will never call and ask you to provide payment over the telephone or in the form of gift cards or bitcoin. If you doubt the legitimacy of the person you are speaking with, hang up and call the police department at 650-738-7314 and ask to speak with our staff member who had called you. Let’s Talk Housing – Countywide Community Meeting on April 14th at 6:00 PM

Don’t forget to register and attend the April 14^th Let’s Talk Housing Countywide Meeting here and join the conversation!

Join us on April 14th for a countywide community meeting to introduce the Housing Element update process. Take time to talk with other cities including Atherton, Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Woodside, and Unincorporated County at this meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM with an introduction about the Housing Element update process. There will be an opportunity after the introduction to talk with community members from our city. To join a separate meeting that will provide a more in-depth discussion about Regional Housing Need Allocations (RHNA) as it relates to this Housing Element update, register for the Let’s Talk Housing: All About RHNA meeting on April 22^nd. Friday May 21^st has been designated as BIKE TO WHEREVER DAY 2021 with select special festivities when possible. San Mateo County will NOT be coordinating public face-to-face Energizer Stations again this year. San Mateo’s second annual Bike to Your Library day is being planned. Stay tuned for more information.
