A reminder that the City has coordinated with San Mateo County to provide a Mobile COVID-19 Testing Site every Sunday at the City parking lot at the Francisco/Salada intersection in West Sharp Park. Frequent COVID testing is an important part of our collective on-going fight against the virus and continuing to make progress in reopening. Under our current progress, the county could potentially move to the most lenient tier, Yellow, by May 4th.

The week of April 26 brings a couple important meetings. First, at the April 26 City Council Meeting there will be an informational study session about housing, specifically focused on explaining the requirements of the City’s Housing Element Annual Progress Report and the process and timeline for developing the 2023-2031 Housing Element Update. Also at the April 26th meeting, the Council will be providing input on the final conceptual design for the Civic Center renovation project, and considering the funding strategy for this project.

Then, on April 29, the fourth public workshop about the Beach Boulevard Infrastructure Resiliency Project will be held. This workshop will focus on explaining how various design alternatives were developed and evaluated; it will be a great opportunity to learn more and provide your input. Staff have released the Draft Alternative Analysis Report, which will also be discussed. RSVP here to attend.

This is an informational learning session only and no policies guiding housing-related actions will be considered. Time for public comments may be limited. Last summer, the City delayed a section of the City’s slurry seal resurfacing project on Terra Nova and Oddstad Boulevard to allow PG&E to trench these sections of roadway to complete a gas line upgrade. PG&E has completed their gas line work and is scheduled to complete the slurry seal operations on April 26th along the following locations:

In addition to the slurry seal, PG&E will also install a Class II bike lane along Terra Nova Boulevard and Oddstad Boulevard, essentially continuing the bike layouts that were installed last year through the City’s Slurry Seal Contract. Lastly, the traffic pavement markings will be refreshed including the crosswalks. The overall work is scheduled to be completed by late May 2021.

The Beach Boulevard Infrastructure Resiliency Project aims to replace the current seawall and protect essential public infrastructure along the Beach Boulevard promenade. This workshop will focus on how the design alternatives were considered and is a great opportunity to learn more and provide valuable input!

The City of Pacifica is teaming up with San Mateo County Public Health, on a Mobile COVID-19 testing site. This mobile bus will be available for testing every Sunday starting this Sunday April 18th from 10:00am to 6:00pm, located at 1900 Francisco Blvd (corner of Francisco Blvd & Salada Ave).

Friday May 21^st has been designated as BIKE TO WHEREVER DAY 2021 with select special festivities when possible. San Mateo County will NOT be coordinating public face-to-face Energizer Stations again this year. San Mateo’s second annual Bike to Your Library day is being planned. Stay tuned for more information.
