San Mateo County has moved into the Yellow Tier and the CDC has issued new Mask Guidelines. Pacifica and the County are making great progress towards our new post-COVID-19 normal, but please don’t take this progress for granted. Our vaccination rate is high, but youth vaccinations are just beginning. Thank you for doing your part to follow guidelines, encouraging vaccinations, continuing to get tested as necessary, supporting Pacifica’s businesses such as through Beach Bites Bingo, and keeping a positive outlook headed into summer despite all the challenges we’ve faced over the past year: #PacificaStrong!

The City of Pacifica is teaming up with San Mateo County Public Health, on a Mobile COVID-19 testing site. This mobile bus will be available for testing every Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, located at 1900 Francisco Blvd (corner of Francisco Blvd & Salada Ave).

Landlords, do you have tenants who are behind on their rent due to COVID-19? CA COVID-19 Rent Relief may be able to help.

Landlords can get reimbursed for 80% of past due rent owed by tenants accrued between April 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021, if they agree to waive the remaining 20% of unpaid rent.

The Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) will provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program includes over $16 billion in grants to shuttered venues, to be administered by SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance. Eligible applicants may qualify for grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount available for a single grant award of $10 million. $2 billion is reserved for eligible applications with up to 50 full-time employees.

Law enforcement response to those in mental health crisis has been a topic of conversation for some time, especially this past year. As part of promoting Mental Health Awareness Month and the resources Pacifica Officers have access to on a daily basis, the Police Department updated their Crisis Intervention webpage with numerous links to the in-county resources Pacifica Police partner with regularly, including the San Mateo County Assessment and Response Team (SMART). Those listed on the webpage are just a sample of the resources that were discussed at the Policing in Pacifica Update at the April 12, 2021 City Council Meeting.
