On Wednesday evening, June 9, there will be a special City Council meeting regarding the Beach Boulevard Infrastructure Resiliency Project. The City Council will consider the staff-recommended alternative that best meets the project goals to create a multi-benefit solution to protect public infrastructure, recreational activities, and the community at large from further coastal hazard impacts along Beach Boulevard, including risks associated with future sea level rise. Once the City Council approves an alternative, the project will move into the design and environmental review phase, while a funding strategy continues to be pursued. Please also attend the Wildlife Preparedness meeting on Tuesday evening, June 8. You can register for the event at tinyurl.com/PacificaFire.
I’m pleased to announce that on Tuesday, June 1, and in accordance with the City’s policy related to the flying of flags at City facilities/locations, the City raised the LGBTQ Pride flag at City Hall and along Beach Boulevard to recognize Pride month.
Finally, please see the latest For the Record post about the City’s Hillside Preservation District Ordinance. Recent articles in the news and on social media have asked questions about this important ordinance, so the City has provided the correct facts for the public’s information.
Sincerely,
KEVIN WOODHOUSE
City Manager
