On Monday, May 3, the federal Restaurant Revitalization Fund will be going live and accepting grant applications. This is another economic recovery source of funding coming out of the American Rescue Plan Act and will bring much needed assistance to local restaurants. Speaking of local restaurants, don’t forget to play Beach Bites Bingo, lending your support to Pacifica’s great diversity of eateries.

Recruitment is open for appointments to the Parks, Beaches, and Recreation Commission, the Beautification Advisory Committee, and the Open Space and Parkland Advisory Committee. If you are interested in getting more involved in the important work of these commission/committees, please consider applying before May 5th, more info here.

The Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) will provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program includes over $16 billion in grants to shuttered venues, to be administered by SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance. Eligible applicants may qualify for grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount available for a single grant award of $10 million. $2 billion is reserved for eligible applications with up to 50 full-time employees.

The City of Pacifica is teaming up with San Mateo County Public Health, on a Mobile COVID-19 testing site. This mobile bus will be available for testing every Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, located at 1900 Francisco Blvd (corner of Francisco Blvd & Salada Ave).

Law enforcement response to those in mental health crisis has been a topic of conversation for some time, especially this past year. As part of promoting Mental Health Awareness Month and the resources Pacifica Officers have access to on a daily basis, the Police Department updated their Crisis Intervention webpage with numerous links to the in-county resources Pacifica Police partner with regularly, including the San Mateo County Assessment and Response Team (SMART). Those listed on the webpage are just a sample of the resources that were discussed at the Policing in Pacifica Update at the April 12, 2021 City Council Meeting.
