If you haven’t already, please check out and participate in the “Beach Bites Bingo” program hosted by the Chamber of Commerce with the City’s Economic Development Committee’s assistance. This is meant to be a fun game that encourages support to local businesses!
This week San Mateo County moved into the Orange Tier of reopening, one of four counties in the state to achieve this level of reopening at this point, so restaurants and retail are allowed increased indoor service capacity. Many have been asking about local school plans to re-open. This week Jefferson Union High School shared their reopening plans here. Likewise, Pacifica School District made this announcement about their reopening plans.
Whether you’ve been vaccinated or not, please continue to follow appropriate health guidance, such as masks and distancing. It’s an exciting time right now, as we move closer to a post-COVID new normal, so thank you for doing your part to stay #PacificaStrong as we head in this direction.

Let’s Talk Housing – Countywide Community Meeting on April 14th at 6:00 PM
The high cost of housing impacts all of us. That’s why now is the time to participate in conversations and plan together for current and future housing needs in all of our communities.
Join us on April 14th for a countywide community meeting to introduce the Housing Element update process and take time to talk with others cities including Atherton, Daly City, Half Moon Bay, Woodside, and Unincorporated County. The meeting begins at 6:00 PM with an introduction about the Housing Element update process, then time to talk with your city or town.
The more people we hear from, the better our plans for the future of housing will reflect what is actually needed. Your voice—along with the voices of your neighbors, our workforce and our young people—are critical to ensure we have housing that meets all our needs. This is an introductory meeting, meant for everyone, including people who are learning about this planning process for the first time.

Earthquake and Tsunami Preparedness Course |

What is a tsunami? Do I live, work, or visit areas in the tsunami hazard zone? How will I receive information about a tsunami threat?
Education and preparation are the best ways to avoid injury and increase your chances for surviving a tsunami. Whether you live, work, or visit Pacifica, it is important to be aware areas within our community are vulnerable to tsunamis. Tsunamis can be generated by an earthquake locally or come from great distances across the Pacific Ocean.
To learn more, join us for an Earthquake and Tsunami Preparedness Course presented via Zoom on March 25. Use the link below to register for this 90 minute course presented by the City of Pacifica Community Emergency Response Team. The link for this class will be sent with a confirmation email.

FRIDAY, APRIL 2ND @ 2PM
The City of Pacifica Parks Beaches, and Recreation Department is hosting the 2nd Annual Reverse Egg Hunt. Decorate an egg poster and help the Bunny find it. The Bunny will be driven on the Pacifica Police Department’s open air vehicle and will be headed by a fire engine from North County Fire.
The City encourages social distancing for all who participate.

May 2021 – Bike to Wherever Days
While most of us continue to work from home because of the persistent COVID-19 pandemic, we will once again be biking to Wherever during the month of May, Bike Month. There’s plenty of reason to get out and ride your bike to run errands, get exercise, visit friends and family (safely of course) and more. This year, join us for the month of May and pedal to Wherever you need to go!
Friday May 21st has been designated as BIKE TO WHEREVER DAY 2021 with select special festivities when possible. San Mateo County will NOT be coordinating public face-to-face Energizer Stations again this year. San Mateo’s second annual Bike to Your Library day is being planned. Stay tuned for more information.
