Greetings!
The City of Pacifica received good news this week. The State budget included funding for two important infrastructure projects in Pacifica:
- $500,000 to repair and replace damage to the Pacifica Municipal Pier to bring this regional asset back to life; and
- $7.75 million for the Esplanade Infrastructure Preservation Projects which will look to preserve vital infrastructure along the Esplanade Avenue corridor.
The City is grateful for Assemblymember Mullin’s and Senator Becker’s funding requests for these important projects. You can view the City’s press release and learn more here.
Also, with cases of COVID-19 rising locally and increased circulation of the highly transmissible Delta variant, the San Mateo County Health Department is recommending that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks indoors in public places as an extra precautionary measure. The Health Department's press release can be found here.
I hope you are enjoying your pretty cool summer in Pacifica!
Sincerely,
Tina Wehrmeister
Assistant City Manager/Planning Director

Wildfire Preparedness - Know your Zone!
|
|
In the event of an emergency, first responders will use Zonehaven to plan and execute evacuations both large and small. They use access to real-time weather, traffic and fire information, and the ability to model traffic and fire spread scenarios. From Zonehaven, public safety officials will update the community with zone-specific information on the map including up-to-date evacuation status, live incident updates, and relevant resources such as shelter options.
Residents simply enter their address into an interactive map at community.zonehaven.com. The map was developed by Zonehaven showing all 300+ San Mateo County evacuation zones. Residents should record their zone number and review zone details before the next emergency to be better informed and able to quickly map their best path to safety. This should be part of everyone's wildfire preparedness plan as we approach another fire season. For additional preparedness resources visit the City of Pacifica Wildfire Preparedness webpage.
