Thursdays in Black
Disciples Women’s Ministries, Global Ministries, Christian Unity and Interfaith Ministry, and Disciples Home Missions join the World Council of Churches in taking a stand against gender-based violence through the Thursdays in Black Campaign.
Let us not forget the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, siblings, and daughters worldwide who face rape and other gender-based violence daily. We know that young ones are also subject to such harm and tribulation.
Join Disciples and the World Council of Churches for “Thursdays in Black” to build awareness and resistance to permissive attitudes toward rape and violence.
Wear black on Thursdays, take a selfie, and tag it with #ccdocThursdaysinBlack and #DWMinblack. Also, be sure to see the information regarding the IDWM service project and participate by connecting with a local agency or organization.

Remember Me
2022-2023
IDWM Service Project
He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.
Psalm 72:14
As Disciples Women, one of the ways we make the gospel of Jesus Christ live is through community partnerships and service in our local areas. Through December 2023, the IDWM Executive Committee is calling all DW ministries to partner with local domestic violence shelters in your region to help provide them with essentials that will help them serve those in need. We hope you will form a relationship with them and provide tangible resources (donated toiletries, socks, sheets, a meal, etc.) quarterly.
Please send us pictures of your projects so we can feature them in future newsletters! Photos with brief descriptions can be emailed to dwmcommunications@dhm.disciples.org.
You can click below for complete instructions and email discipleswomen@dhm.disciples.org for questions.
