Shop Local, Shop Small This Saturday!

Before you begin your Christmas shopping this year, remember who truly invests in Paulding County.

It’s our local businesses—the businesses, shop owners, makers, and service providers who consistently show up for this community. Throughout the year, they support organizations like Caring & Sharing Food Pantry, Bargain Bin of Paulding County, JAR Animal Rescue, The Kitty Hope Foundation, Paulding County Area Foundation, Paulding County History Museum, Community Revitalizing Paulding (CoRP), Kiwanis Club of Paulding, Paulding County Hospital Foundation, United Way of Paulding, and The Paulding Area Chamber of Commerce, etc., as well as school fundraisers, youth programs, service projects, and local events.

Online retailers, like Amazon, don’t do that. They don’t sponsor community efforts, respond to local needs, or reinvest in the place we call home.

When you shop local, you’re helping the people who help Paulding County. You’re strengthening the organizations and programs that make our community better.

Shop the Village this Saturday and let your dollars stay where they make a real difference.

Celebrating a Historic Season!

The Paulding Panthers' Football Team made history this year with an 11–0 regular season and the first playoff win in school history. Their season wrapped up last Friday, but that loss doesn't overshadow what this group accomplished or how far the program has come.

These boys, their coaches, and their families put in an incredible amount of work, heart, and perseverance. Watching this program under Coach Jim Menzie grow and gain momentum has been both inspiring and exciting for the entire community.

This success has also created a ripple effect throughout the county. Tim Copsey, Director of Paulding County Economic Development, has noted that when our teams succeed, the whole county benefits — from extra fuel and meals purchased locally to increased foot traffic in our shops and other businesses from visiting families and fans. Supporting all of our local athletes strengthens every corner of Paulding County.

Moments like these stay with our youth. The way our community shows up matters — it shapes how they feel about Paulding County and can influence whether they choose to raise their families here someday. And when our young people strive for greatness and reach their goals, it lifts everyone and sets the stage for the next generation.

So thank you to the parents, coaches, fans, school staff, and businesses who supported these boys all season long. You made a difference — and the Panthers made Paulding County proud. Keep it up!

These boys and their coaches even got up the next morning to help CoRP put up Christmas lights around the Courthouse Square. We’re proud of them not only for a strong season on the field, but also for showing up as responsible, community-minded young men off the field. (Picture below)

Chamber Serves at Festival of Trees

A huge thank-you to our Chamber board members and volunteers who helped serve dinner at the Paulding County History Museum for the Festival of Trees kickoff. Kaila Green-Uys of Kircher’s Flowers, Lora Lyons of United Way of Paulding, and Scott, Connor, and Beauden Strahley all rolled up their sleeves to serve spaghetti and meatballs, breadsticks, salad, and cookies—sponsored by the Paulding Area Chamber of Commerce.

Together, we served around 80 meals and helped support the museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Museum Director Kim Sutton shared how much it meant to have the Chamber step in, saying the meal was “delicious,” that guests loved it, and that partnerships like this help the museum continue Preserving the Past for Future Generations.

And to our Chamber members—thank you. Opportunities like this are only possible because of your support. Your membership allows us to show up for local organizations, lend a hand when it’s needed, and strengthen the places that make Paulding County special.

Food Drive

November 1-30, 2025

Help the Paulding County Health Department Fight Local Hunger

The Paulding County Health Department has heard far too many stories lately from families right here in our community who are struggling with food insecurity. In response, the department is organizing a county-wide food drive to support our local pantry and help ensure no neighbor goes without.

They’re asking the local business community—the backbone of Paulding County—to join in this effort.

Businesses can get involved in several ways:

  • Host a Food Drive: Collect non-perishable food items from your employees. Flyers and materials can be provided.
  • Make a Corporate Donation: Contribute financially or donate goods directly to the local pantry to help restock shelves.
  • Spread the Word: Share information about the food drive with your customers, clients, and social networks.

By partnering with the Health Department, your business will be recognized as a Community Health Champion, supporting families across Paulding County.

If your business would like to participate or learn more, contact the Paulding County Health Department at pchd@pcohhd.com or call 419-399-3921.

Together, we can make a real difference for local families this season.
