Greetings!
Summer is officially here. While many students are enjoying a well-earned break, now is the time to get ready for the school year ahead.
Athletes use the offseason to prepare for success. At New Life Community Alliance, weβre taking the same approach by preparing for Community Impact Day on Saturday, July 25.
Community Impact Day is one of my favorite days of the year. Families and community members come together for free haircuts, clothing support, music, food, games, and encouragement as students get ready to head back to the classroom. It has all the warmth and joy of a family reunion, while helping students and families prepare for the school year ahead.
One of the most important parts of the day is our backpack drive. This year, our goal is ambitious: providing 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies for students across South DeKalb.
A backpack may seem small, but it can make a big difference. It helps a student walk into school confident, prepared, and ready to learn.
You can make a financial gift to help purchase supplies or donate a new backpack filled with school essentials.

Looking for a meaningful summer activity with the children in your life? Spend an afternoon shopping for a backpack together, filling it with school supplies, and talking about how your gift will help another student start the school year ready to learn.
Together, we can help 1,500 students start the school year strong.
With gratitude,
