POWAB Digital Footprint
POWAB is seeking to expand its digital footprint! Our goal is to expand our reach and engagement to more faith communities in the District and beyond. Over the next month we will be enhancing the content on the POWAB website and the information disseminated on our Facebook page. Each month we will focus on a different topic determined by the executive leadership team.
To ensure our website and Facebook page maintains the most current and relevant information, we will be developing a digital calendar and form members to provide submit content relative to the topic of the month that they would like shared through POWAB’s network.
The internet is constantly changing and evolving and staying relevant and up to date will be the key to POWAB growing its digital footprint. The POWAB Social Media and Marketing Team is currently a very small team of two dedicated individuals. We need your help to grow our presence and achiev
e our goal.

A Message from one of
POWAB Chaplin's
Wo
rst Pandemics in History During this period of global pandemic, it is comforting to remember or to know who in what you believe. Is there a power in the universe that is greater than the power of man, or is man the ultimate power?
I certainly believe in the supreme power of God. Some things are not readily explained by science. The 10 Plagues of Egypt and the 10 Worst Pandemics are examples. Man could not readily explain nor stop the effects of the 10 Plagues of Egypt. The death toll for the 10 Worst Pandemics has been recorded in millions.
Whose report are you going to believe. We believe the Report of the Lord.
As the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) continues, we’re all adjusting to new realities, and many of us turn to prayer in times of crisis. Visit our Facebook page to get updated prayer. If you would like to add a prayer or positive message
please e-mail the Chaplins:

The District of Columbia Department of Health
supports evidence-based, patient-centered initiatives to reduce HIV transmission, improve the lives of people diagnosed with HIV, and reduce health disparities which may be exacerbated by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
To support this mission, we recommend rapid ART initiation as soon as possible following HIV diagnosis. This is consistent with recommendations from the following groups:
•
World Health Organization (2017):
Recommended ART initiation within 0-7 days of confirmed HIV diagnosis
•
International Antiviral Society-USA Panel (2018):
Recommended ART initiation for all ambulatory patients who are committed to starting ART, unless there is uncertainty about the diagnosis or medical contraindication, such as opportunistic infection
•
New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute (2019):
Recommended ART initiation on the day of diagnosis or first clinical visit
•
US Department of Health and Human Services Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in Adults and Adolescents with HIV (2019):
Recommended ART initiation as soon as possible.
